So when this latest attempt at a Knight Rider series finally gets canned (and it's "on the bubble" now, and the axe is being sharpened) does that mean that somewhere down the road (pun) we can look forward to a 5th attempt at making a follow-up to the original series - which will also take place in a completely different continuity than any of the other intended sequels?
Or is that the last time and everybody's learned their lesson by now? That there is NO way to revive Knight Rider that won't suck.
(Well I actually kinda I liked Knight Rider 2010, but it was really cheesy, even by early 90's standards. And it takes place in a "future" that is now our past. And the real year 2000 was nothing like that!)
I think this would *have* to be the last attempt. Because already some of the original KITT's features - like GPS, head's up displays, or that it talked - are available in a lot of cars, and so KITT doesn't quite so "gee-wiz!" and impressively futuristic anymore. If they wait another 10 or 20 years to try a revival...if we are even still using cars by then - they will likely have more KITT like features such as the ability to drive themselves, and a powerful voice-activate "weak AI" that talks back to us. And who know's what else?
But yeah, this latest incarnation of KR is pretty much crap. And I have read that it's about to undergo some "retooling" - cast changes, and some changes in premise - and that almost NEVER results in series improving - in fact, usually after a "retooling" they mannage to be even crappier than before.
They should have just got the Hoff back, then the show would at least be a guaranteed success in Germany.
