If you put your cards on the table at the end of the day and you judge a book by its cover you will see the grass is always greener on the other side of living rent free in someone's head.
 
Pingu lives rent free in my head. As, indeed, does everyone is there is no system of "rent" set-up to pay for "living" in my head.

You would only have to charge rent to someone "living" in your head if they were LITERALLY living in your head, but that would require either that you have a house sized head or that they are ant-sized people.

Both seem very unlikely.

How about having conversations with people in your head that aren't even in the same room as you?
