I intend to change very little in regards to the Do's and Don'ts at TK as outlined by mm but I thought it prudent to make sure everyone understands clearly ONE MORE TIME.
Free Speech.
TK is meant to be a place you can come and say what you want without fear of being censored or persecuted by overzealous moderators with God complexes. It sounds simple enough but the amount of contention that this issue has caused here is staggering.
Because, yes, there are limits to everything.
So here are things you can't do and simply hide behind the Free Speech mandate with a "who me?" expression.
Let's start shall we::
Do not post ANYTHING illegal. This includes:
This will be enforced heavily and will be an outright PermaBan from the board. Forever. And ever. And...you get the point.
The rules are non-negotiable. If needed new rules will be added if it's deemed necessary.
Final thoughts:
TK is a place where you can express yourselves and hopefully have fun...or not. Whatever. The rules are in place to protect the board from devolving in to total chaos (not the fun kind) and from protecting it from getting taken off-line altogether. There is still plenty of room for you to get shit off your chest, when and how you feel like it, as long as it's within the rules which I think (and lucky for me what I think has some sway) are hardly that limiting to anyone who isn't just trying to be a total and utter dick.
I appreciate there is always some grey area when interpreting some of the "disruption" rules. Put it like this: we know it when we see it. And trying to play on technicalities will simply not work. A good rule of thumb is that if you're not trying to harm or exploit the boards software and the way BBS's function for people in any way then you will be fine.

- Any form of pornography that is illegal in the UK and/or United States. People that try will find themselves not only banned but reported to the relevant authorities. There is ZERO grey area on this. And yes, this includes pornographic fiction pertaining to children.
- Threatening actual bodily harm against people in a way that can be deemed to be serious. This is one of those 'you know it when you see it.' It will be up to the staff to decide if a threat is serious or some one just said they want to punch Lady Gaga. Threatening harm on others according to the qualifiers I just pointed out will end up in you getting banned as well.
- Do not try and sell or solicit anything illegal on TK.
- Do not post personal information of a member of this board if they have not posted it here themselves before. The first name is allowed irregardless of this rule but full names, addresses, telephone numbers, SS numbers, IP addresses and anything else that can link a member to their real life persona is strictly forbidden. This also includes posting links to members sites on social media sites where their personal information may be available. Just because someone has a Facebook/Myspace page with personal information does not stop them from being protected from having that information divulged here. If you feel you are a victim of someone posting your real life information (more than just a first name) then contact a staff member.
- Do not run macro programs or any type of script on Troll Kingdom.
- Do not try and do anything that disrupts the way a BBS works. This means flooding (what is and isn't considered flooding will be determined by the staff) excessive spamming (will be determined by the staff) or any other type of behaviour that is undertaken with the intent of disrupting the normal operation of the board/server.
- Do not post pornography or shock images without a NSFW tag in either your thread title or - if in someone else's thread - spoiler tags with NSFW above the spoiler image. The NSFW tag is NOT needed if posting barely clothed males or females with genitalia somewhat covered. TK is neither a shock or porn site. Remember that.
- Do not bring any real life legal issues you may be having on to this board in any form. This means (and I'll simply quote mm here)
- Do not claim someone here is phoning you. Do not threaten to sue them, don't threaten to call the police on them, don't claim to be phoning someone, don't claim someone is suing you, don't claim someone sent the police to your door.... IF it involves any kind of legal or harassment issue, DO NOT bring it on this board. Settle it off the board any way you need to but quit dragging it here. If you threaten to shut down this board or cause me any legal problems or threaten to cause me legal problems, say goodbye.
