...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!! I couldn't keep a "straight" face!!!

OMG OMG OMG ITS TONEEEEE NIGHT, WHEN CBS TURNS AS GAY AS BRAVO FOR 3 HOURS!!! WHEEEEEEE!!!!!

Tonight (Sunday, June 11), at 8pm (EST) on CBS.

This is where I usually get my taste of Broadway every year. Sigh.

Anyway, watch and enjoy. :)

HARRY POTTER SWEEPS THE TONYS!!!

Best Featured Actress in a Play: Frances de la Tour (Madame Olympe Maxime)

and

Best Actor in a Play: Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon Dursley)

for The History Boys

LOL

The Tonys were a bit boring this year, as were the plays. I feel like I was teased with the promise of....something...but the show never delivered.
No showstoppers. And casting people in plays simply because they have marquee value: Cyndi Lauper, Harry Connick Jr., Julia Roberts...meh.

The highlight for me, surprisingly, was the scene from The Color Purple. I really wanted to hate it, because of the whole Oprah producing it thing. But dayum, it was good.

Anyway, which one of you guys likes Hugh Jackman? Eggs? Henny? Blazerboy? I found this clip on YouTube of his 2004 musical performance.

I'm watching old classic Tony Awards clips right now...Glenn Close in Sunset Boulevard, Jennifer Holliday in Dreamgirls; and reliving good Broadway memories, instead of this drivel they're producing nowadays. Sigh.

Yeah, I take my Broadway seriously. ;)

God Damn It! Why the hell did this have to be the same night that One Night Stand was?

SHIT!!!

Henoch is the Hugh Jackman lover. I'm a big theater queen but even I think Jackman tends to embarrass himself as a Tony host...

I could watch Bebe in Chicago forever. She hooked me on that show years before the rest of the world saw the movie...

The Tony show was a little disappointing. I do want to see The Drowsy Chaperone and maybe I'll check out the Oprah show...but Jersey Boys as Best Musical??? What could possibly be so good about a show that you might just as easily see on a cruise ship? People are falling over themselves to praise this show. I'm almost afraid to see it, because if it sucks like I think it will, it will mean something worse has happened: nobody knows what constitutes a real musical anymore. *shudder*
