The US government may be a bunch of things, but it's not the bunch of power-crazed reactionary nannies Australia's apparently is. (No, it isn't banned.)
 
Do you believe every bit of anti-US propaganda that the wacko leftists throw out there, SuN?

We had a discussion about Roger Moore months ago. The only reason we went after him is because he blatantly broke the US/Cuba trade embargo, and filmed himself doing it!

This new video you've found seems to be supporting a man who allies himself with the incredibly radical Iranian government. He is also an intense Leftist. Most of Chavez' criticism towards the US started after Bush withdrew expansion funding to Venezuela.

Since then, he's been crying for more money from the US, but he doesn't want any US-like companies in his country?

There's always a twist to everything. I'm not denying the US involvement in his overthrow six years ago. I'm just saying, he started rattling his saber when Bush took away his money. He allied himself with a known terrorist-harboring government. He is also adamantly anti-US.

What Chavez doesn't want to realize is that his country really doesn't like him. Corruption's rampant, and the people aren't really free.

Conspiracy or propaganda, demonizing the self proclaimed 'world police' has been a fav past time over the last 10 years; all those days in cafe's and nights in bars bitching about the US has been enjoyable, if not the best method at the time to process the bastardisation of democracy and the embarrassment that ensued.

It's now getting quite delicious. If oil doesn't get up and stay up past $80, the Chavez government will run out of funds in 2010* if the estimates of off budget accounts are correct. Without these black accounts it'll be this year. Just wait until he can't pay off his supporters anymore. :lol:


*IF production stays the same. While officially it has since nationalization, fact is that production has been falling since then. Chavez has recently tried to open up exploration and production to foreign companies, but low and behold no one really wants to invest in Venezuala while the ink is still wet on the nationalization bills! :rofl:

They plaid fair. Chavez then stole their investments out from under them. No one will risk investing when they know they can't make any money off it.

The irony is delicious! Chavez has already had to axe his cheap fuel to poor America, and his promised refineries in Ecuador and Nicaragua. Look at him to stop the fuel for food with Argentina and Uraguay. Last to go will be fuel for teachers and doctors to Cuba.

But it'll go unless oil has a big comeback.



You can see the panic in how he is trying to shove his constitutional amendments through ASAP. He's already had to cut back on his largess, and his popularity has started to suffer. :D

You do know that Chavez gave the CIC job back to Rincon after the coup, right? He also gave Rincon a gigantic raise by promoting him to Interior Minister a year later. That's called keeping your enemies closer. It's also called paying a successful man off so he won't do it again. AKA Bribery.

You have Exxon, the second-largest company on the planet, screaming for his head because he booted their asses out, and KEPT their billions in investment in Venezuela. They demanded he hand everything back to them. HOw does one hand over developed oilfields that sit smack in Venezuela? The Americans think they own the world. Shit, I have been sending letters to my MP, demanding we too boot the Americans out of our oilfields. Our oil royalties are FAR, FAR too generous. Tell the Americans to fuck off, then sell our oil to China and India, who have offered to pay us far more than what the Americans have offered.

We don't give a shit about Russia, as their own economy is similar to our very own. We are both dependent upon our staggering resources.

The USA is in danger of becoming protectionist, and our government is fighting tooth and nail to prevent this, even our LIBTARDS who not too long ago want us to become protectionist against the US. My, but how ideals change quickly yes? Any protectionism between our two countries will destroy the both of them. Fact.

I have called on my own country to put up trade barriers against ALL OTHER NATIONS with the exception of the US.
