Mirah
I love you
I knew it
I knew it
that night I had a dream
it wasn't a dream
it was there
in black and white
it crawled across my covers
and
I
lay
frozen
unable to move
must have the correct mechanism
with witch
to kill
spider
must
kill it properly
so it
doesn't come back to life
and haunt me
must make sure
I catch it
and it doesn't run away
must use disposable objects so as not to have spider guts or remnants on any thing of my being
I grab a tissue and I push it down
then
look down at the medicine box
I will throw it away anyway
I smoosh it
but I lift the tissue
and here is
this thing
running around in a circle
on my bed!
I smoosh it again
feel so guilty
how can I pick it up
with said tissue
even though I will throw the tissue away anyways
I must now hold the supposed dead spider
in my hands
seperated
only by
thin
cloth
what if it comes back alive?
grab the box
perhaps I can put it in there!
nonsense!
Be a big girl and grab the tissue
and place the spider in the trash
along with the box
that you will now not recycle
I am sure the garbage man will understand
I quickly dispose of the evidence in the tiny garbage can designated for my room and I quickly grab said garbage and whisk it off to the main garbage of the house. Did I mention the putting on of slippers? Slippers will now protect me from any more spiders lurking around.
I dispose of the spider
and then
retreat back to my room.
Disgusted
that such a creature could have been in there
where did it come from?
Where was it hiding?
How long had it been there?
I put on socks to protect my feet.
As if I care if a spider crawls across my toes.
What about my face?
My head?
My ears?
My eyes?
Was that dream I had the other night really not a dream?
Did that hair falling down my neck really represent a spider that survived through the night?
I changed my pillow cases the night before. I know they are fresh, there can not be any spiders hiding in them!
It does not make sense to change them now.
But now
my room
is off limits
I must now
sleep in the living room.
This makes complete
and logical sense.
Absolutely!
