I want to smell dark matter
His new body towered over the streets below. He saw Chloe looking up at him. She was so tiny. Like an insect. He could kill her just by stepping on her. He was the size of a thousand men now. He was more than any other man to ever live. He ordered Chloe to get out of the way with his mind then destroyed her house with one kick. It felt good to destroy something.
He travelled to the site of his mountain. It did not take long now with his new legs. His strides were massive. He rose the mountain high with the power of his mind once again. He rose it higher than even before. It reached high into the clouds and above, miles and miles into the air. Still he rose it. Earthquakes spread out as he did but he did not care. Thousands of ink-eyes died and even some humans who had survived the ink-eye invasion so far. He did not care. He laughed as cities were levelled. The world was his to destroy. Finally the mountain was at its fullest height, as it had been in the days when he had been the squidgod. He could see strange and ancient runes carved into the base of the mountain. They were written in a language the squidgod had invented.
"I can read them..." he said.
"Finally you are truly me," said the Squidgod in his head. "You have passed the last test. You have a body worthy of my majesty and you have risen the mountain to its old height, to its highest glory. Now you simply have to read the words I carved there, in the hope that I would one day live again, and I shall become my old self again fully."
"You mean...you'll be in charge?"
"That's what you have been working towards this entire time, isn't it? To become a God. To become me."
"I...I suppose so..."
"It took two lifetimes to achieved it. You messed up spectacularly as you hung on to your old humanity the first time around, when you were the pathetic Squidinator. But this new persona, this Master was much better. You burned away the human parts of your brain, willingly. All because a girl made you feel pathetic. You did the right thing. Now, finally, make the world mine."
"I'm not you," he said, confidently. "I'm something new. And I don't have to read those runes."
"You do."
"Why?"
"This is my design! For millions of years this has been planned, ordained! Read the words and make it real!"
"I don't want to."
"You can't refuse me!"
"Why not? Why don't I just burn you away too as I did humanity?"
"No, don't you dare, NOOOOO...!"
He stopped listening to the Squidgod. He didn't completely delete it, but he tucked it away somewhere safe in his massive brain. He turned away from the runes. He would make his own destiny.
