I want to smell dark matter
The Squidinator was surprised to find that the portal they were travelling through was not instantaneous. He had time to talk to the Time Demon.
"Your portals, how do they work anyway? Your power is connected to time..."
"The universe is constantly in motion," sighed the Time Demon, as if he knew the Squidinator would not understand. "The space the Starwhale is currently occupying was once the stay where we just stood. I simply have to find that point in time then fast forward us to the the present day."
"I don't understand," said the Squidinator. "But maybe one day I will."
"You think you can do it, don't you? Becomae not just a God but God Himself. Control the whole universe."
"Yes," he said, without hesitation. It was what the Squidinator wanted. The Time Demon said nothing. Then they were through the portal and on the Starwhale's back. They heard its voice instantly.
"YOU THINK TO COME ON MY UNAWARES?" she said.
"No," said The Squidinator. "But we think to hurt you." Right away he punched through the Starwhale's flesh with a stream of his ink. He could tell the Starwhale was surprised by this. He heard her cry in pain. She writhed in space, but she could not shake him off. He saw members of the Starbrood fly towards them. He looked to the Time Demon, who nodded. The Time Demon time displaced the first Starbrood member to arrive.
"Sent it back in time a week," he smiled. But, suddenly, the smaller whale appeared in space again. "No! How!"
"YOU FOOL," said the Starwhale. "YOU FORGET WHO THEIR FATHER IS. I RAPED YOU A THOUSAND TIMES OVER. YOU BEGGED ME TO STOP, LITTLE TIME DEMON, BUT I CARRIED ON. THERE WAS NOTHING LEFT IN YOU BY THE END."
"No," said the Time Demon. "NOOOO!" He started to run off.
"Where are you going!?" asked the Squidinator, alarmed. He was still drilling the oil in. Some of the mutated humans who lived on the Starwhale's back had arrived and were firing weapons at the Squidinator, but they had no effect.
"I'm going to find the other me and kill it," said the Time Demon. "Put me out of my misery."
"But that could destroy this timeline, end all I've worked for!" said the Squidinator. "Do no be so reckless!"
"I'll do what I want!"
The Squidinator turned one hand away from the Starwhale and shot the Time Demon with oil. The effet was curious. Something changed in the Time Demon's eyes. He seemed to grow larger, more powerful, yet also seemed to lose what he once was. He had become a puppet, the Squidinator realised, just like that. So easy.
"I will do what you want," said the Time Demon.
"Fetch Chloe, or something," said the Squidinator, then turned its full attention back to the Starwhale.
"YOU HAVE RETURNED TO THE SOURCE," said the Starwhale. "GROWN MORE POWERFUL. IMPRESSIVE. BUT DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE SOURCE TRULY IS?"
"You know no more than I."
"NOT SO. I SPOKE TO THE SOURCE MYSELF, BEFORE I LEFT EARTH. DO YOU KNOW WHAT I FOUND? MYSELF. I AM THE SOURCE, SQUIDINATOR. I AM DESTINED TO BECOME THE GODDESS OF THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE, TO EXIST OUTSIDE OF TIME. THAT POWER YOU NOW WIELD COMES FROM ME. IT IS BURROWED. ONE DAY I WILL BE GOD AND YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF...DEAD."
"I don't believ you. Because I am going to kill you this day."
"ARE YOU? YOU FORGOT...ABOUT THE OTHER TIME DEMON."
The Squidinator found himself confused. What day was it? What year? Who was he...he wash the Earth itself...he was a squid swimming in the sea...he was a man writing something on the ground...a pathetic small man stalking a girl...no...illusions? Time illusions? The other Time Demon had him, he knew. Fuck
