I want to smell dark matter
"No..." said the Squidinator.
"Yes," said the Starwhale. "I'm going to tear you apart atom by atom for what you did to me." She sounded calmer now. It made her even more scary. But then something happened. A portal opened again. The Time Demon, the one from the Squidinator's timeline, walked through, followed by Chloe. The slave Time Demon looked up at him. There was a chance now.
"You..." said the Time Demon.
"You..." said the Starwhale's Time Demon.
"NO," said the Starwhale, frantic. "THEY CANNOT TOUCH. EVERYTHING WILL END."
"I had his mind," said the Squidinator. "But now youv'e trapped me...you must realise me so I can take control again." Both Time Demon's were slowly walking towards each other now, as if they were drawn together by some force. Chloe tried to hold the Time Demon back but he shoved her to the ground.
"I CAN'T SEEM TO STOP MINE EITHER...FINE," said the Starwhale. "I'LL KILL YOU LATER." The Starwhale realised him. The Squidinator tried to take control of the Time Demon's mind but was shocked to find he could not. The Starwhale seemd to be struggling too. As the two Time Demons drew closer than began to resemble each other. It was as if they were meant to be together. As though the universe was correcting the mistake of there being two of them. But the Squidinator could feel reality beginning to vibrate. The source cried out to him. Stop this, it isa.d
"I have an idea," said the Squidinator. He created a forcefield around the two Time Demons. The Starwhale understood and strengthened it.
"A POCKET UNIVERSE," she said. "BUT WILL IT HOLD?"
The Squidinator poured more of his Source Energy into the forcefield. It was a bubble in space. But they had to displace it somehow...
"THE STARBROOD," they both said together. One of the Starwhale's children flew right into the bubble, just as the two Time Demons were touching. And then...nothing.
"What happened?" asked Chloe.
"The child displaced them from time, just as they touched," said the Squidinator. "They are gone."
"And we are in stalemate," said the Starwhale. The Squidinator tried to pump ink into her but it did not work, but he was protected now by another forcefield.
"We could end this, go our seperate ways," he said, not believing it.
"No," she said, cruelly. "We might be in stalemate, but my Starbrood still lives. I can use them to destroy the Earth..."
"No!" said Chloe. "There are billions of innocents there."
"They are nothing," said the Starwhale. "I will kill them on a whim without pity or mercy."
"You have children!" said Chloe, desperate. "You have created life! You have people living on you, all these years, in great cities. Don't you see the potential in life? Don't do this..."
The Starwhale thought about this for a moment. What Chloe had said had distracted her for just a second. It was long enough.
The Squidinator pumped the Starwhale full of ink with fury.
