I want to smell dark matter
Iggy had a chance. He couldn't enter Noah's mind, and certainly not Rose's. His supervisor would be watching. But just by being here, with the knowledge of what was about to happen, things were different. He couldn't place a thought in either head, but he wasn'ts swirling around in the exact same place as before. Things WERE different.
He'd just time travelled with the supervisor. It had been very smooth. The future almost seemed like a dream now. He was back, and watching Noah throw Rose down on the floor. He remembered that Noah had kicked and kicked her brutally before, then leaned over her to do more damage, but she'd stabbed him in the throat. He did not want that to happen again. He couldn't warn Noah. He couldn't do anything, really. But he was here, he was aware, and things were different. That was a butterfly effect. Atoms spinning in a different direction than they had before. You couldn't predict the exact placement of a particle! Noah kicked Rose...then stopped. Iggy would have held his breath if he breathed.
"No...maybe I shouldn't hurt you," said Noah, thinking. "You are to be my wife, after all. Sorry. I just get so angry when people won't do what God wans them too! I'll just keep you here, with the ark, until you're ready to accept that I am God's chosen hero."
And he walked away and locked her in the room. She didn't get a chance to stab him the scissors. Noah was still alive! And he was still Iggy's favourite.
"Things happened differently!" said the supervisor. "The man was supposed to die!"
"Random chance," said Iggy. "You saw that I did not interfere at all."
"But if the overlords find out..."
"Have they checked in yet?"
"No..."
"See? They're not watching. They don't care. And they would understand anyway. You did the right thing by time travelling. The different outcome wasn't down to you intefering, it was just...luck."
"Why do I get the feeling you're going to be the death of me?"
And then the sky went black as the Earth was sucked into a wormhole.
