I want to smell dark matter
The Squid God has slept for so long. It hadn't even understood what was happening at first when it had entered Madonna's body. It had no sense of self, just an awarness of the world suddenly returning. Then it had started to remember, started to form again in Madonna's brain. At first it had thought it had been dreaming. It had been millions of years since it had been capable of dreaming. It didn't like the dream. It wanted the dream to end. But it hadn't. The Squid God was back, in a body, a human body. That had happened before. Once it had been...The Squidinator.
Oh it remembered. Images of past lives flashed through its mind. The Squidinator had ruled the Earth once. But human weakness had been its undoing. It had been defeated, in the end, by elves and wizards and other creatures. It sighed. That always seemed to happen. It remembered its other life when it had been pure squid. Pure God. The days of legend. It almost wondered if those days had been year. It had ruled the Earth for a thousand ages but in the end the dark magics had imprisoned it...
Suddenly another memory came to mind, the whole planet transformed into a machine to travel the stars, a battle with a great Starwhale...the death of everyting. But that couldn't have happened, surely?
Yet ultimately, things never really changed. It sent out ink feelers from Madonna's body. The elves were gone now, it could sense. The wizards too. The dragons. All of them. But the humans always returned. Like cockoaches, they always survived somehow. Evolved again, or just hid underground, whatever. The Squid Madonna didn't even think it mattered. They were the constant. The human race.
And now a mechanical man want the Squid Madona to wipe them out.
"Why?" he had asked. "They'll just come back."
"An elite few will be safe on your mountain, but the rest must burn or hey will all die," said the mechanical. "I am from the future and I have seen it." The ink feelers didn't work on the mechanical, but the Squid Madonna could tell it believed what it said. The Squid Madonna laughed cruelly.
"In this future I am from, do I rule the Earth?" it asked. The mechanical hesitated.
"Well, no," it said.
"Then the timeline has already changed," said the Squidonna. "You are from a different future, for the Earth is mine now. Serve me or be gone." And the mechanical had left in search of someone named Demi Lovato.
The Squidonna could feel its host's emotions, of course. The one known as Madonna. She felt strong again. She felt relevant. The Squidonna decided to let the others, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Shakira and Katy Perry live, as long as they served the Squidonna. As for Taylor Swift? The Squidonna laughed. Why had it ever feared her, or been jealous? Such a petty human weakness. The Squidonna wished it could purge all its human memories and feelings away. Perhaps in time.
First it had to raise its mountain even higher and let the whole world know that God was back.
