This WF prying into people's PMs thing has got me concerned.

missmanners

grrrrrrrr...
From what I can tell, administration will be poking around in certain individuals PMs on the server level. Now.... I believe one of them is Storm. I had some PM correspondence with Storm there recently, what assurance do I have that when the WF administration opens his PMs they wont be reading something of mine he quoted in response to me?

Because I sure don't give MY permission for anyone else to see that information.

:meh:
mm

I have a worse scenario for you.

The admins poke around, their eyes glaze over and spot evidence which proves a person to be DW. Except that the person didn't give them permission to view his/her PMs.

So what can they do, other than try to entrap the suspect or get him to admit it?

If it doesn't happen, will the person be treated differently by the admins from that point on?

Would the admins be able to resist telling the rest of the staff about it?

It's a big can of worms.

Eliteforge shares info constantly. So that person would be trolled by someone every time they hit the post button.

Wait a minute...

What right does the staff have to read your Inbox at all?

The people who sent those PMs would be under the impression they would remain private. How can a person give permission for others to inspect your inbox without violating that trust?

On what authority can the recipient 'give permission' for the PMs of others to be read?

That's why I almost never PM, and would rather handling things out in the open. After dealing with people like paralaxitive, I know that anything can be leaked out.

Yep, it's a huge new problem, and I regret the part I played in opening this can of worms. But what was I to do? Accusations were made, the other players graciously offered the PM box, to not do so would be wrongly interpreted as guilt.

That gives me an idea.

This is sad. If you people really cared you would go over to wordforge right now and send a bunch of interesting to PMs for them to read.

How do you think EFCL got trolled to the ground?

I've always assumed that even my PMs could be read and/or used against me.

Nothing is "private" online. Privacy depends upon the goodwill of others.
