This year's QI complaints thread

CaptainWacky

I want to smell dark matter
Thread to complain about the lack of women panelists/the unfunny token woman panelist, Alan Davies doing unfunny mimes in an attempt to steal a laugh, too many cock jokes, people trying to be funny rather than quite interesting, people talking over Stephen Fry, Stephen Fry talking too much, Jimmy Carr's laugh, that woman with the puppets...

And Sandi Toksvig's really long anecdotes with endings you can predict right from the first line (I mean, they tend to be good stories, but I'd rather hear more from Stephen about the subject at hand).

The opening episode was okay. Alan Davies was up to his usual (unfunny) tricks, Jack Whitehall kept relying on "haha, humans have genitals", but David Mitchell at least tries to stick to the concept of the show and the token woman was actually good and I'd much rather see her again than fucking Sarah Milican or that puppet woman (or Jack Whitehall.)

I can only echo your thoughts. I like Jack Whitehall in Fresh Meat, but on QI he just tries to turn everything into a dick joke. It's really frustrating when he interrupts Stephen midway through a fact.

I don't have any complaints this week, but I don't have anything positive to say either. I can't actually remember anything about it (I think I had a mild panic attack thinking about Charlotte winning Big Brother.)

The token woman this week was hot.

There should be a rule that Alan Davies can only talk in his normal voice and can't mime.

Yeah, Jack Whitehall is ok looking, though his girlfriend is much much more attractive.

I haven't seen this weeks yet, but last weeks was marred somewhat by Noel Fielding. He just answers every question with "cake of jealousy" or "anguished marbles" and expects a laugh.

And Stephen was really patronising to Ross Noble.

The science bits at the end are completely unconnected to what they were discussing for the rest of the episode. It's quite odd.

Lol imagine if they'd been real balls like testicles lol in mousetraps lets discuss that for ten minutes! Sandi Toksvig could make a joke about her balls and everyone laughs because its a reference to her being a lesbian and everyone knows lesbians don't have two balls they have a redundant pair for emergencies now over to Jo Brand for a comment about which section of her handbag she keeps her husbands balls in NO WAIT! Jack Whitehall has a testicle in a drawer story! Oh my golly gosh really what is uncle Stephen going to do with you all deary me!!

Alan: I've got testicles. Can I have a point?

Stephen: Oh my lovely you can have ONE FOR EACH!

*audience applaud*

I was happy to see Isy Suttie as the token woman, but to be frank she wasn't very knowledgable about anything (still like her though!)

Yes she was a nice addition since her comedic distractions didn't revolve around penises.

But really I was just relieved they didn't have Tim Key, though I should've known that was impossible because they can't have two new people in an episode or the world would end.

Didn't realise Tim Minchin was. I'm amazed they didn't form a hybrid of Ross Noble and Sue Perkins to counterbalance the newbies.
