If you don't know, now ya know
He's now won 10 of the 14 "World Championship of Golf" events. Tiger pocketed a cool $1.3M for four half-days of work. John Daly's blown 3-foot putt cost him over half a million dollars. Still, making $750,000 for four half-days of work ain't too bad.

Poor Colin Montgomerie. If he could've made a few birdies on the back 9, instead of piling up pars, he very well could've challenged Tiger and J.D. for the title. Will Monty ever win a tournament on American soil?

The funniest thing is that I was talking to my wife & son as the playoff was in progress. I basically told them, when players of Tiger and J.D.'s caliber square off in a playoff, it's not the player who makes a magnificent shot that wins. It's usually someone making a mistake, and the other guy capitalizing. Cue Daly blowing a 3-foot putt that he just flat yanked.

The look on Tiger's face said it all when J.D. blew it:

Tiger was interviewed by the Golf Channel after the match, and he said, "You don't want to win tournaments like that. As well as we battled each other out like this, we had a bunch of fun. We should be going on to 17, the both of us."

Tiger, for the most part, is very classy.

So, anyone doubt he's the #1 player in the world right now?

I use to never watch golf, but since Tiger has come on the scene I do. Heck, I've even started to learn to play.

^^Where do you live, LoP? I'm a avid golfer myself. I'm going to Hawaii over the Thanksgiving holiday, and I'll be playing the same course that Michell Wie practices on!

Sadly, none of my friends or co-workers plays golf, so I'm always teeing it up alone, or with strangers. :(

But, hey, solo golf is better than no golf! Hell, I'm gonna sneak in a quick 9 holes after work today!
 
Golfing in Hawaii!!! That is very cool.

My co-workers don't golf either, but I try to get some time alone if needed. Like you said, solo golg IS better than no golf. Here in Central Oregon we can golf most of the year since we have lots of sunshine. Even cold days are okay for golfing. :)

Not me, him...He's been an avid golfer for three whole weeks. I hate golf, played it, won the junior country club championship, was begged to join my high school golf team, declined 'cause why? I hate golfing.

Tiger Woods won our country club's junior gold championship one year, I believe he was 13 at the time.

I used to play nearly 50 rounds a week in the 90's. You know, BEFORE I HAD A MORTGAGE AND TWO JOBS AND TWO SUVS THAT NEED GAS EVERY OTHER DAY, AND A LITTLE BOY WHO NEEDS ALL MY TIME, AT LEAST HE DID, BUT NOW HE SLEEPS LATER SO I CAN PLAY ON THE WEEK-ENDS!!
