History
Troll Kingdom was formed when a group of TrekBBS members grew increasingly frustrated with what they perceived was a heavy-handed treatment of free speech by the moderators. After many of these members were banned, they formed their own BBS, calling it "Troll Kingdom," a forum without rules.
Troll Kingdom has gone through two incarnations. The first was started as an ezBoard community by forum member Red Whacker, and was primarily a science fiction discussion board. The only 'bannable' offense was 'whinning.' It is currently believed that only a member named Castek was banned under this rule.
Like many bulletin boards, Troll Kingdom collapsed due to a lack of membership. The board soon returned with MissManners as an administrator, and featured a section called "TrekBBS Exposed." This section is widely regarded as the only success of Troll Kingdom, and is a complete archive of all threads in the TrekBBS' private moderator-only forum, The Briefing Room. The hosting of this archive resulted in TrekBBS administration establishing a moratorium on discussion of Troll Kingdom. The actual fallout from the expose was minimal, as the threads were not as damning of the moderating staff of the TrekBBS as most suspected them to be. Most TrekBBS moderators stated that they did not care who saw the threads because they were not ashamed of anything they posted.
On Sunday, May 30th, 2004, a hacker named C0NIk appeared to have hacked Troll Kingdom in what appeared to be a favor to member FeFe Roissey. The site was offline for approximately a week. Rumors persist that the hacking was simply a stunt to draw membership.
Today, Troll Kingdom is visited by many regular members of the TrekBBS, including some of the moderating staff.
