TKERS AND THEIR SHOES

curiousa2z

Be patient till the last.
Just bought a pair of New Balance 1007s. Love 'em!
It's like running on pillows!

How about you? What sort of footwear do you prefer to wear?

*shoes!!!! sits back and dreams of more shoes.... lots of shoes, and lots of places to wear them....*

Oops... I'm fantasizing again, I'm sorry what was the question?

I've got two pairs.

A shoes-for-crews pair of steel-toed boots for my work. And a pair of Nike's that I've had for years for everything else.

I'm not much for paying $100 just for a pair of shoes.

So Cait, you're the type that wears high-heeled stilettos, that has a strap that wraps up your leg, right? ;)

^lol - funny, Rommie, that's what I see her wearing as well... :D

btw...only TWO pairs of shoes???! Life is simpler for straight boys, eh? ;)

I bought a pair of New Balance running shoes. I'm not sure what model number they are. But they weigh about 2/3 less than my last pair of running shoes, and are almost so light it's like running barefoot, save that there's great cushioning.

This is my third pair of New Balance shoes, and unless somebody introduces me to something better, I'll be sticking with this brand for some time to come.

As for my other shoes, for a man, I'm something of an Imelda Marcos. I think I have something like 20 pairs of shoes.

^ same here re the New Balance shoes.

ok, guess I have to rescind my comment to Rommie about straight men and the number of shoes they have. Maybe he's just not into shoes.

^^I like Saucony, they seem to fit my nearly-flat foot a little better. I am an over-pronater, and really should be wearing running shoes from Brooks. But my shoes wear out like every 5 months, I just can't see spending $120 every 5 months for shoes that might help me. As long as I don't have any leg/back pain (well...not too much pain, I mean. ALL serious runners have some type of pain or another), I'll stick with Saucony.

Although...the Nike Barefoot runners are intriguing!

I currently have 11 pairs of shoes:

Nike Shox W/R/Bl for cross-training
Saucony Running shoes
Nike Crosstrainers that are maybe 10 yrs. old (my "muck" shoes, for cutting grass, cleaning gutters, walking in mud
Reebok Allen Iverson All-Stars, Bl/W/R
Sketchers black casual
"Motorcycle" style ankle-boots that look kewl as hell
Brown Cowboy boots bought in Texas
Rockport DresSport H2O dress shoes for work
Payless no-names for my night/weekend job
Sperry Topsider "boat shoes"

...And I only regularly wear like 4 pair of those. Rockports for work, Saucony for running/working out, Sperry Topsiders in the spring/summer and Sketchers in the fall/winter. The rest just sort of clog up my closet. :)

I used to wear Nike and found they gave out in the arch too easily. But maybe they've corrected this with the newer products.
These new NBs I bought are light weight but give me great ankle support - something I was particularily shopping around for - I have to watch one ankle that dislocates easily. You don't want to be in the peak of your aerobics workout and have to be worrying about going over on yer ankle.

^^You know what? The thought of you being all sweaty and doing aerobics is a very pleasing thought. My pants just got tight.

;)

^^ha! nice list -I still have my old Nikes for yard stuff too. They still LOOK good.
because of my stupid ankle, my dress up shoes have to be high-heeled granny boot types that lace up. Kinda sexy, but no where near as sexy as my dear 3 inchers. (Which are still in the closet; can't bear to part with 'em) :)
