The USWA/WWF Jerry Lawler/Vince McMahon Feud of 1993.
Vince McMahon the heel debuted in 1993, in Memphis Tennesee, on non WWF television.
What a strange little known feud, that kicked ass. Finally some awesome soul put it on youtube.
It all began at the 1993 King of the Ring. When Bret Hart won the tournament only to be attacked by Jerry Lawler in his WWF debut. This led to the feud between Bret Hart and Jerry Lawler that went for quite some time in WWF. Little did most WWF fans know that in Memphis Tennessee The King began to feud with Bret Hart, and WWF in U.S.W.A, Lawler's promotion. Except in Memphis Lawler was the face, and Bret, and basiclly the entire WWF, were the heels. Owen Hart is also featured predominately in the beginning of this feud. As is Gangrel when he was Vampire Warrior.
Later on Vince McMahon makes his heel debut on Memphis Wrestling television, beginning with his siding with some crooked ref named Paul Neighbors. Paul is just some slacked jawed yokel, and Vince puts him over like they've been niggas forever. Its a bizzare, yet highly entertaining feud that features Tatanka, Giant Gonzales, and eventually Macho Man Randy Savage.
I don't want to spill all the details, but if you got a free afternoon I suggest you wrasslin fans give this forgotten moment in wrestling history a look. Highly entertaining, and at times surreal. Enjoy.
(Most of the matches are crap, but the mic work, and promos are pretty entertaining, espcially Vince.)
I'll just link cause its a buttload of videos, and the video descriptions are excellent.
