Trollkingdom is Existentialism

Sendell

I'm not wearing any panties!!
While TK may superficially appear to be a collection of intellectually deficient holocaust deniers, it is in reality a demonstration of existentialist philisophy.

The most striking examples of this are the the strings of threads that nobody will read in the daycare and minefield. These exist for the sole purpose of entertaining the poster in the moment that they are written. It's this ability to disregard both the real world and ignore the pointlessness of the threads that makes it appear as if TK is not held back by by Mauvaise Foi.

Of course there is the issue of the actual trolling, something that seems to be malicious and incompatible with Existentialist practices. However, this too could be considered to be a demonstration of the need to overcome Mauvaise Foi: all these people getting upset over trivial things and people criticising their beliefs and choices. They could just get on with what they want to do rather than what they think some exterior force would want them to do.

Furthermore, all the absurdity and apathy that goes around on these boards gives it a really Sartrian feel. It's particullarly remeniscent of Les Jeux Sont Faits in this respect and It's surprising that there aren't more philosophers here. Perhaps it's just the anonymity and the dual accounts that allows people to express themselves in complete freedom but it's still a great place to be.

TK forever!
