OK, this is just weird....

I heard a piece BBC did for NPR today on this game...

· Conduct physical & spiritual warfare : using the power of prayer to strengthen your troops in combat and wield modern military weaponry throughout the game world.

One person being interviewed made the excellent point that if this was a game which featured Muslims killing non believers, Americans would be having a fit.

We make games. Muslims make videos to show to their grade schoolers how to be successful suicide bombers.

From the captures, it looks like Spiderman-2/PS2 with different characters and buildings.

They take great pains in the FAQ to state that it's based on the fictional book series and not Revelations (wink). But they also have a separate FAQ for Christian media with all the right pc buzzwords.

I haven't read the books, but the premise seems dumb: It's after the Rapture and most everyone is already gone, and the few sweathogs left over have to choose between joining the AntiChrist (described as one world government promoting peace between all people, how horrible) and the Tribulation Force, who has to presumably slaughter the peace-loving nonbelievers.

Praying gives you strength and more weaponry, just like in real life.

Everyone needs a game I guess. Cuz its a sin to play those other games.
