We can't help ourselves

Mirah

I love you
The piece of artwork is titled, "I can't help myself"
A perpetual machine spilling its own blood and then cleaning it up, over and over again.
We can't help ourselves.
When I first heard about this piece of artwork I thought it would be much more beautiful, like about people helping each other. But really it is about the endless cycle of terrible shit that we do. Now anyone who knows me knows that I am the optimistic and often focus on the positive, but for this moment I am going to think about how fucked up things are. The environment, the systems, human nature.
I was watching "In the Dark" a movie about a blind person trying to solve a murder. And then in the movie it turns out there is a dirty cop, but then not just one cop, many cops and the whoe system. Not surprising right? I mean its no secret, it really isn't.
But there is a little bit of me that is surprised and shocked. It is really this bad? If you watch the show-tell me. Please. Actually why do I even think there is a little bit of good left in that corrupt system and the politics that run it. It is all corrupt.
So I do focus on the good, I focus on my small community, those around me, what I can do and sometimes I just survive.

Other times

I can't even help myself

We can help ourselves. And one of the first steps on the road to that is to destroy anyone who tells us we can't. We need to recognize that we're being subjected to a campaign to demoralize us, to instill in us such hopelessless and apathy that we'll surrender and choose not to fight back against entropy. "You can't win," they're essentially saying, "don't bother to fight this. Just let it all fall apart."

The only proper answer to that is, "Fuck you."

Wow,
I actually agree with you.

Even tho I want to add a Mary Poppins Gif

It's good we have robots to help with our blood clean-up efforts now.

I like art, especially conceptual art but I don't get that at all.

You don't understand the robot?
I don't think I did at first either until I watched and listened to the video and watched another video about it and what the artist's idea was behind it. Basically the machine that is cleaning up the mess is also creating the mess. It is so happy, dancing around cleaning up the mess that it is unaware that it is indeed the one also creating the mess.

Ok, I guess I get that. But is the red liquid supposed to be representative of blood?
