Went to church today

Wow. I think that is twice now for me Loktar. I have you beat. But probably the other time I said I went to church I was lying. But it might have been for a funeral and actually I visit several churches throughout the week sometimes.

I still have you beat. I went to Church for 33 years before my "vacation" from Church.
 
Loktar, go to church. Even if you are a dirty heretical Catholic and need to excite the priest with lurid confessions.
 
I haven't gone to church in 7 years. Mainly because there is no church - or religion, for that matter - that accurately fits my religious beliefs.

But I'm lazy, like sleeping in on Sunday mornings and in the midst of a crisis of faith/religion I don't really want to get into.
 
I haven't been to church in 26 yrs. Seem like not quite long enough if you ask me.

Neither of my children have ever stepped foot inside a church or cracked a bible. And to date no christian has access to either one of them.
 
I force myself not to roll my eyes at lunch today when my mom said "You need to get back to Church." And I replied "Maybe I'll get back to Church after I get a job." And she said "Maybe God is waiting until you get back to Church to help you get a job."

I'm sure the Almighty has better things on his To-Do List than Holy Blackmail.

That's probably why he hasn't bothered to help me win the lottery yet.

Busy fucker I guess.

I am greatful he stopped me from getting a flat tire though. So far anyway.

Sometimes I feel like I would like to go to church but I don't because I know I don't look at religion the way other people who would be at church do. I don't have any need to sit among them and pretend to be one of them. I don't have any need to hurt them or let them hurt me.

Still, I have a core belief system that involves my God and sometimes I would like to have a special place where I can go and sit in peace and commune with that being. I know - I can do that without a special place, that everywhere is appropriate since I believe my God is a creative force that is at the beginning of all that is.

It goes a little deeper than that but I think you can get the gist of what I am saying to you. Hope you get a chance to think on it.

Don't worry....I still believe in God....just alot less than I used to. Lets just say I want to party more with the sinners than the saints right now.
