What happens when 90 mph winds blow through a forest...

Bad, bad things. Power out Thursday afternoon, got mine back on late Sunday night. The trees blocking roads have been cleared. Everyone has been working to get all the branches and piles of tree debris moved to their curbs for the clean up crews to pick up through the 18th.

The interesting thing is even with all the trees that were blown down, the forest still looks very lush from the 8th floor of the office building I work in.

As happy as I am to be able to watch Hulu Plus/Netflix/Amazon Prime again, I was enjoying reading scary books by flashlight.

Most odd. Not a hurricane. We're pretty far from major bodies of water too. Just really high winds that came from far north. Brought a ton of rain with it too. Didn't hear of fatalities. Lots of broken stuff.

That's "shear" I think. We had a couple of those events occur this late spring. 80 mph winds blew up over the top of the mountains and flattened a few acres mountainside. Looked like a bomb hit it.

I used to really love windy days when I was little. Days just like this.
