Who is Apocalypse?

One of the most popular character in Marvel comics. Not as well-known as say, Spiderman, but pretty damn badass.

Here is his Wiki.

And here is the incredible voice-acting done in the semi-old X-Men cartoon. The actor has since that time passed on. He also did a bunch of Klingon voices for Star Trek.

From 2:20. Get it while it's hot.

Badass.

I believe he was the most badass of them all.

Do you feel he was portrayed as more of a badass on the X-Men cartoon than in the actual comic?

I think it's apples and oranges. The comic allowed for a greater quilt of a story to be created while the 'toon breathed life into these characters. I'd say the cartoons were better than the films and stop at that.

They were. The films were nothing more than cash thrown at a great story, with a quality assurance staff to ensure the average Joe likes them.

I can understand certain modifications made for the films. Wolverine in yellow would not look good. But there comes a point where you think, "Apocalypse would come and pwn their asses. These people aren't concerned with making something more than a stamped, generic product from a special story, so fuck them."

The cartoons were radically different. They did change the story, though not to the extent the films did. This isn't inherently bad, but the 'toons knew how/when to portray something with the badass import it was meant to be portrayed with. The Sentinals were mean to be badass, not a minor opening clip like in X3.

I liked the films alot. Esp the second.

But I don't see elements like Apocalypse and the Shiar working in that context.

No one mentioned the Sh'iar. Apocalypse could be easily worked in.

En Sabah Nur. First appearance: (in shadow) X-Factor #5 (in full) X-Factor #6

Created the 4 Horsemen, War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death, after Angel's wings were destroyed by Harpoon. Read "The Mutant Massacre" and "Fall of the Mutants."

WINNOW OUT THE WEAK THAT THE STRONG MAY SURVIVE.

Apocalypse could easily work. He could be the whole "first mutant" thing who's been unearthed by religious mutant fanatics or something. Or maybe even have Magneto unearth him in an attempt to restore his weakened powers. His abilities could be he's superadaptive or something, and he has the ability to awaken, and or transform X-genes in people human, or mutant.

He goes, and recruits his 4 horsemen (through hook or crook) 2 of whom could be a more badass, tranformed version of Sabretooth, or maybe even a brainwashed Wolverine (ala the 12 storyline) and of course Gambit, the ambitious theif with a heart of gold deep inside wanting to come out. And of course he either sacrifices himself, or he survives by the end of the flick.

Hell, people are clamouring for a crossover put the FF, and X-men together in the next film. Have Doom, or Magneto unearth En Sabin Nur who goes on a rampage, and creating an army of transformed Humans, and altered Mutants. Thus forcing a fledging FF, and X-men to team up,and travel to the middle of the atlantic to unearth the man who imprisoned Apocalypse in the first place at the cost of his own kingdom thousands of years ago. The REAL first mutant........ Namor.
