Chit-Chatting: While we encourage users to discuss topics and respond to each other in threads, Lost-Forum is a forum, not a chat room. "Chit-chatting" occurs when only a handful of people post one after the other in a manner akin to chatting in a chat room. Chit-chatting is often very spammy and is better suited for PMs or instant messaging programs and is not appropriate posting behaivor here at Lost-Forum.

Actor Bashing: Bashing the actors is not permitted at Lost Forum.


PMing Multiple Mods: If you have an issue you wish to PM a Mod about, that's perfectly fine. That's what we're here for. However, there is no need to PM 7 of us about the same issue. We do discuss board issues amongst ourselves, and PMing more than one of us is annoying at best, and a blatant attempt at going around the decision of one Mod by going to another at worst. Simply put, pick a Mod, any Mod, and PM that one.


Official Threads: For some reason, it seems some people have an unbearable urge to label any thread they make as Official. On Lost Forum, no thread is official unless sanctioned by the Staff. We will remove the word from any thread that we didn't approve as being official.

Shipper Conducts: In addition to the other Lost Forum rules, the shipper section has its own special set of rules known as the Shipper Conducts. If you ship, follow these rules.

Be aware that continued failure to adhere to any of the posting policies could result in deletions of posts, suspension of posting privileges, and/or complete banning.

Wow ! No talking to other members and you can only pm one mod ! Let's hope the mod you pick isn't on vacation !

Bans
There are two types of bans here at Lost-Forum.

There is the temp ban which can last anywhere from two weeks to several months. These bans are not permanent, and a user is welcome back to the Forum at the end of their temp ban.

A permanent ban is utilized if the user is either a troll, posts porn, or otherwise violates the rules of this forum in a way that makes their presence here at Lost-Forum unacceptable. Permanent bans are lifelong and users who are permanently banned are not welcome back to the forums.

Depending on the severity of the violations, a user will be given 2 warnings prior to recieving a ban.

If the violation of rules is severe enough, the user will be banned without any prior notice.

Any member who violates their bans by registering again under another user name faces the possibility of being permanently banned or IP banned.

The Warning/Ban System:
* 1st warning = in-thread
* 2nd warning = PM
* 3rd warning = temporary ban, minimum two weeks
* 4th warning = perm ban

This is the standard system, but bear in mind that bans are always at the discretion of the Lost-Forum staff.

There seems to be a rather rampant misconception we've noticed over the last few months regarding the warning system and bans on Lost Forum.

Warnings DO STACK UP. I'm not sure where the idea that 'oh, that happened two months ago, why does it matter now?' comes from, but we've heard that more than once with people trying to argue warnings and/or bans. Wrong. A warning is a warning, whether it happened this morning or in October 2004. What would be the point of handing out and documenting warnings if we simply disregarded them after a few days?

Warnings, just like bans, are based on the discretion and judgment of the Staff here. They do not have an EXPIRATION DATE so they stay with you as long as you are a member of LF.

Another note regarding bans: if a member has been temporarily banned and, upon returning, does something else banworthy, it will then be a permanent ban.

Why do people act like this ! Can I not find one board that isn't run by a group of jackasses !
