The guy who voices Wallace is like 103 so they better hurry up.
 
The final episode should be Wallace being euthenised by a sympathetic carer in a cancer hospice, while Gromit's taken to the vets to be put down, as old dogs just don't get taken home by visitors to pounds; often being overlooked for younger, cuter, less "beady-eyed" ones that haven't been "broken in" yet. The final shot would naturally be their respective corpses entering the crematorium furnaces. Their plasticene bodies melt, dripping down through a series of grates until they congeal to form the word "Fin", followed by a fade to black and the end credits.

Continuity announcer with the jokey voice: AND DON'T FORGET, COMING UP LATER IS THE NATIONAL LOTTERY WITH A SPECIAL PERFORMANCE BY X-FACTOR WINNERS 'SHOULD BE BAND'! :D :D :D :D :D
 
They will probably make the next one in CGI and Wallis will be voiced by Justin Timberlake.
 
The dog who plays Gromit must be getting pretty old too.

I think it would make a better ending if they were made into cheese and crackers after they died.

They won't, because it's cheaper to show the old ones relentlessly - UNTIL EVERY TELEVISION IN THE WORLD NO LONGER WORKS (2012!)

I will always think of him when I have crackers and cheese.
 
He played an old man in Last of the Summer Wine for nearly forty years. That's a long time to be old (I guess he was "the young one" when it started.)
 
40 years ago he was still older than I am now, and I am not that young.
 
So maybe he was like Sofia on The Golden Girls -- played an old person before he was really that old. But didn't count on the show lasting 40 years.

RIP.
