Winter is truly here again.

You know when you can 'feel' winter? - I'm not talking about the light change, I'm not talking about the temperature, I'm talking about that cosy feeling you get when you're indoors and you have a heater warming the house up, your mother is busy making home made Apple Pie and it early evening and life means nothing more than sitting infront of the telly with a beer as the wind howls outside.

Its a weird feeling, hard to put into words, a kind of existential awaking as the cold and unforgiving outside creates the opposite of safe haven and comort indoors like you can never get in summer.

Well, I am getting that very winter vibe now, Winter is officially here.

Huzzah?

I would say, with the Notch closed for almost a month and thrity six inches of snow on the stake, your point is well taken, at least in these parts.

What's winter like in Greece? My wife's mom used to live in Athens and I've got some great pics, but thats like reverse weather isn't it?

I know what you mean about the "change in the air" though. It's very much like that up here. Still warm and sunny (well 50's warm, anyway)

I felt the same thing in the past 48 hours. The temperature suddenly shot down from the 60s to the 40s on Thursday, and has stayed that way since. But beyond the temp change, that crispness in the air that I associate with Winter was finally present. So I put down my heavy comforter on the bed, and was quite snuggly last night.

Time for some hot toddies...

we are now officially into winter.
finally snow on the ground....
I had to go and by an ice scraper and dig my boots out of the box in the basement so I could take my son to watch the Santa Claus parade.
yep.
it's winter.
