Are you afraid of losing that one little bit of power you think you have over the staff? See, there's my problem right there. The membership shouldn't be the ones who have the power over the staff, it's the other way around. And in my opinion, these guidelines are doing exactly that. Essentially stating that they are the ones who are running the board, and holding the members accountable for their actions. NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

Just follow the rules, behave yourselves, and nothing will change! We can all go about our day discussing our favorite topics. If you've come here just to fight with one another over a topic, then you're in the wrong place to begin with.

I like Rommie, I really do. He's a good guy.

I think he misses being on Staff, and is courting to be asked to be a mod again. It makes sense if seen in that light.

And with the way Staff are dropping, it will probably work.

I very much doubt that.

He's not the same person at EI as he is here when it comes to board politics.

I'd only be interested in knowing what the hell is taking so long with my ban anyway. ;)
 
Yeah.

Tradition, precedent, the spirit of Ex Isle... things said at the start to apply for the duration of the board... they should all mean something.

Posters are what keeps staff (including yours truly) honest and from being big-headed.

Poster input, even if it's at times a pain in the ass (and it can be :mrgreen: ) should always be solicited.
 
I like Rommie very much as well. Don't get me wrong, but it pissed me off when I read that post. Not only that, but then he turned right around in Banapis' guideline thread and called it too wordy and restrictive. Huh?

The voice from the crypt is right.

EI's trolled beyond the point of recovery and the staff/membership relationship is so poor neither side is taking suggestions seriously.

EI is dying and can never recover.

You can nominate yourself. But, don't hold your breath. They tend to pick old timers, and no matter what they say, they would probably not pick anyone hailing from TK. I never could figure out why I got picked.
