What does this tell us? In my opinion, it's just one more sign of our celebrity-obsessed culture. Are we really so disenfranchised and disgusted with our own lives that we are willing to bow and scrape at the base of these people's lives? To eat their table scraps?

I for one am not. I'm not a movie star and I don't occupy the pantheon of the world's most rich and famous. But I have a job I believe in and a family I love. Sure, I get underpaid for teaching, and being a husband and father is hard, but I wouldn't trade it for all the fame and wealth so many people seem to lust and wish for.

Is it just me? Thoughts, please.

A guy who can't devise a persona for himself here other than a -- hmm -- a fictional celebrity, railing against hero worship.

I'm sure I'm not the only one laughing at your dumb gay ass, Pollyanna.

I think our flying friend got his tights machine-washed instead of dry-cleaned this week. The shrinkage has left him dazed and retarded.
