The ST:TNG Cold Open Thread...

Kirk likes 'em green. Picard likes 'em... 'young'...

The Decker maneuver.

John... Luck... Pickerd?

J.C. Brandy's age when Tapestry premiered in early 1993: 17 (born 1975).
She now works as an acting coach and practices hypnotherapy (*and* she's a songwriter - go get 'em, J.C!)

Patrick Stewart's age when Tapestry premiered: 52 (born 1940). Inappropriate? Perhaps. But, it should not go without mention:

Sunny Ozell (Stewart's wife of 10 years) age when Tapestry premiered: 14 (born 1978).

Probably worth pointing out he didn't know Ozell in 1993!

Back to the topic at hand, I'm not sure if this really counts as one of the best cold opens but I've always enjoyed the episode in general.

Especially the part where Picard draws the smiley face in the time frozen warp core breach cloud and goes nuts.

If we can extend it to other Trek series, I've always liked the opening to Living Witness. Great "WTF is going on" to start the episode.

"Quantum Worf"

"Returning from a Bat'leth tournament, LT Worf stepped into the shuttle Curie and vanished. He awoke to find himself trapped in the a different reality, facing mirror images that were his own-but different, and driven by an unknown force to change history for the better... And so, LT Worf finds himself leaping from life to life, striving to put right what once went wrong, and hoping each time that his next leap will be the leap home."
