TV All Things SNL

Almost never. Only guys with certain personalities did, like Dennis Miller and Jimmy Fallon, but they didn't approach it as fake newscasters, more like talk show hosts.

Ania's approach disturbed me, lol. You can't have 2 WU anchors with different styles. Either they're both party hosts or they're fake newsers. Paddy wasn't 100% confident in which style to try either, but at least he kept a straight face for the punchlines, which is what you're supposed to do if you want people to laugh...
You'd think Tina would have given some pointers on delivering WU, but perhaps she had a hands-off approach to everything. Let them fail on their own lol

Do I make a new UK SNL?

I loved this one
Also, I mean stuff isn't like super fucking hilarious, but I am strangely actually finding it funny, WHY THO?! I LOVE IT!!!

I like that they're not afraid to let sketches go on for a while until they're almost one-act plays. That was part of the charm of the original show in the 70s. They tried things that weren't inherently "cool" but, by presenting them sincerely, they made them "cool".

SNL is SNL, even if it's Korean SNL

I’ve only seen the second episode so far, but I was very pleasantly surprised.

The opening monologue definitely outstayed it’s welcome, but that kidnap scene and the British themed pub were really funny. And I didn’t know what was going on with the musical but it was very well done.

Every Jack Black sketch I've seen has been fucking awesome. I can't wait to watch the whole episode.

Watched this, and for some reason I felt as though I was watching John Mulaney. This would totally be the type of sketch he'd do.

I thought the fourth episode got off to a weak start: pre credits sketch was some basic Melania jokes (yeah, she deserves it) fine. Jack Whitehall's monologue was bad (but I don't like him anyway.) Didn't get the first sketch at all: I assume it was referencing something specific since the audience were laughing before anyone said anything, but fucked if I know. Football mascots sketch had a funny idea but just ended randomly with no punchline. So I should watch more to get to the above bit I suppose.

Congratulations! The UK now knows what it's like to have an "ehh" episode of SNL.

Your cherry is truly popped now.

This usually happens when the show is on its third/fourth episode in a row without a break, unless the host is some inspirational comic genius... the writers get tired from the grind, and the sketches get sloppier, or never get beyond the "rough" stage.

The fact that Jack Whitehall is less than a towering presence who usually gives off "desperate" vibes didn't help things... that monologue... you could see on his face the moment he started peeing himself a little.

Wait was there a UK and US SNL over the weekend?! AHhhhhhhhh
I can't keep up!

Colman Domingo hosted the US show. He was amazing even tho the writing wasn't there to meet him. He'll be hosting again...

Well this looks promising...

Don't recognize the name Nicola Coughlan, but can't be a bad show with the Foo Fighters.

She's a hilarious actress from Bridgerton and Derry Girls.

She played Joy in the Doctor Who Christmas special Joy To The World, that took place in the time hotel...
