kansas state 4th in women's top 25; south carolina still no. 1
The Wildcats, who climbed three spots, were last ranked this high in 2003. They have a key Big 12 conference showdown Monday night at No. 13 Baylor. Kansas State is missing star center Ayoka Lee, who is out for a few weeks with an ankle injury. Six teams are within a loss of each other at the top of the ACC standings, with Syracuse and North Carolina at 6-1. Louisville is 5-1. Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and NC State all have two losses.

Duke commit Cooper Flagg tops McDonald's All American Game rosters​


Duke signee Cooper Flagg and Rutgers' first two participants in 16 years headline the rosters for the 47th annual McDonald's All American Game. The rosters, which feature 19 of the top 21 prospects in the 2024 ESPN 100, were unveiled Tuesday on ESPN's "NBA Today." Duke, which has the No. 1 recruiting class in 2024, also has two signees named to the game. Flagg, the No. 1 prospect in the country, will be joined by No. 7 Isaiah Wvans on the East team. North Carolina has No. 13 Drake Powell and No. 16 Ian Jackson. The East team will be led by Pace Academy (Georgia) coach Sharman White, while Tommy Brakel of North Crowley High School (Texas) will coach the West team. The McDonald's All American Games for both boys and girls will take place in Houston on April 2 at the Toyota Center.

South Carolina remained the clear No. 1 team in the country and No. 2 Kansas State matched its best ranking ever after a chaotic week that saw nearly half of the AP Top 25 lose at least one game. The Gamecocks received all 35 first-place votes Monday in the latest Associated Press women's basketball poll after their 76-70 road victory over then-No. 9 LSU.

zach edey headlines wooden award award, late season top 20 list
Reigning winner Zack Edey, the dominant 7-foot-4 Purdue star, headlined the men's Wooden Award Late Season Top 20 list announced Tuesday night. The award is given annually to the best college basketball player in the country. Edey was the runaway Wooden Award winner on the men's side last season and entered this season as the heavy favorite to become the first repeat winner since Virginia's Ralph Sampson won the 1982 and 1983 awards.

North Carolina's RJ Davis has been arguably the best guard in America, producing a true breakout season and averaging 21.2 points and 3.3 assists as the Tar Heels look like the ACC favorite and a Final Four threat.

Bacot, Ingram lead No. 3 North Carolina past No. 7 Duke 93-84 in rivalry game​


Third-ranked North Carolina played with confidence and a physical edge to build a lead against rival Duke, then never flinched in protecting its edge no matter how many times the seventh-ranked Blue Devils made a push. When it was over, RJ Davis took a moment to savor a quick goodbye wave to them in front of a roaring home crowd. Armando Bacot and Harrison Ingram each posted double-doubles to help No. 3 North Carolina beat No. 7 Duke 93-84 on Saturday night in the latest renewal of the rivalry between neighboring programs with a combined 11 NCAA championships.

BIG PICTURE

Duke: The Blue Devils arrived with plenty of momentum after going 7-1 in January. Duke did plenty right offensively (shooting 50.7%) but the Blue Devils made just 5 of 19 3-pointers and committed 11 turnovers — the biggest when Tyrese Proctor threw away an inbounds to Ryan with Duke down 88-80 with 43 seconds left — that led to 19 points for the Tar Heels.

UNC: The Tar Heels started 9-0 in ACC play for their best start in 23 years before Tuesday's loss at Georgia Tech ended their overall win streak at 10 games. This was a big way to get back on track.
