2024 NBA All-Star schedule: Dunk Contest time, TV channel, live stream for 3-point shootout, Steph vs. Sabrina

The 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend is now just days away, with all the excitement set for Feb. 16-18 in Indianapolis. While Friday night's Rising Stars Challenge and the actual All-Star Game on Sunday are both interesting, All-Star Saturday Night and its array of events are always the most anticipated part of the annual showcase. That's no different this year, with a number of stars set to be in action. Here's everything you need to know about the 2024 iteration of All-Star Saturday night:

heat's bam adebayo to replace Joel embiid as all-star starter
Adebayo made the All-Star team this season as a reserve selected by coaches, just as he did in 2020 -- when he also won the skills competition at All-Star weekend -- and 2023. He'll become the seventh player to be an All-Star starter as a member of the Heat and the first since Dwyane Wade in 2016.

mcclung, lillard repeat as all-star dunk, 3-point champions
Mac McClung became the fifth player in NBA history to win back-to-back dunk contests when he ended All-Star Saturday night with a clinching 50-point slam over Shaquille O'Neal. - After getting through to the final round on a tiebreaker, Lillard made it to his final rack tied at 24 points with Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young and needing just one shot to earn the victory.

NBA again left seeking solutions after uncompetitive All-Star Game

After months of stressing the importance of having a more competitive product on the court for this weekend's All-Star Game, NBA commissioner Adam Silver doubled down on that front Saturday night, declaring, "I think we're going to see a good game" in the NBA's annual midseason showcase at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Sunday. But after the 73rd All-Star Game looked exactly like last year's lackluster performance in Salt Lake City -- with the Eastern Conference setting the all-time scoring record by becoming the first team to surpass 200 points in what was eventually a 211-186 victory over the Western Conference -- Silver's annoyance at what took place was clearly on display.

It was a fitting end to an evening that did nothing to stop the discussions over what the future of the NBA's marquee midseason event should look like moving forward. The NBA threw its weight behind making this game a priority for its players all season, with both Silver and Hall of Famer Joe Dumars, the NBA's executive vice president and head of basketball operations, repeatedly saying that getting more effort out of the All-Stars was a priority. Instead, it was another game with virtually no defense and with little to no life inside the building -- to the point that the Los Angeles Lakers' Anthony Davis said his most memorable moment was when the hype teams from the Chicago Bulls and Indiana Pacers went through their dunk routines between the third and fourth quarters.

Bucks' Damian Lillard named MVP of 2024 NBA All-Star Game

It was "Dame Time" all NBA All-Star Weekend long. The Milwaukee Bucks' Damian Lillard was named All-Star Game MVP on Sunday, scoring 39 points to lead the Eastern Conference to a 211-116 win over the West in the highest-scoring midseason exhibition to date. He joined Michael Jordan as the only other player in league history to win a Saturday night event and be named MVP in the same All-Star Weekend. Lillard won the 3-point contest on Saturday, edging the Minnesota Timberwolves' Karl Anthony Towns and the Atlanta Hawks' Trae Young in the final round. Jordan won the dunk contest in 1988. For Lillard, who joined the Bucks in an offseason trade after spending the first 11 years of his career with the Portland Trail Blazers, it was a welcome weekend in the midst of a challenging stretch for Milwaukee. It was his eighth All-Star appearance but his first time being named a starter.-

Towns had a noble effort as a runner-up on Sunday too, leading the West with 50 points in 28 minutes to become just the fourth player in All-Star Game history to reach the 50-point plateau. Haliburton, the hometown favorite, finished with 32 points on 11-for-15 shooting, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Brown had 36 points on 15-for-23 shooting and 8 rebounds, and his surge late in the third quarter helped regain control of the game for the East after the West came within 12 points.

It was a flurry of records: The total points of 397 smashed the record of 374 set in 2017, while the East made 42 3-pointers to break the mark of 35 set by Team LeBron in 2019. The sides combined for 193 points in the first half to break the any-half record of 191 set last year, and the East tied an any-half record by scoring 104 by intermission.
