This one drove me crazy, I was sure it had to be from a sci fi movie I had somehow missed and I couldn't find it anywhere. This was long before PCs and the internet...

We had computers. I had just written my first program. It was when i worked for the EPA. We were using a ViC 20 and an NEC printer. We had gotten an actual modem. You had to stick the reciever on it. The " internet" consisted uploaded data to a third party. This was called to interface.
