I had a thought this evening: what if one:

1) was not a troll, nor even enjoyed reading about trolling
2) was not caught up in the drama/politics of other boards
3) enjoyed posting in Mine Field
4) held no position at TK which required reading the whole board

What would the downside be to turning off all fora in the New Posts page other than the MF? And maybe some non-drama, topic-based fora like Media Center and Digital Abyss?

At the place TK is now, is one really missing anything? Discuss.

You could do the same thing WITH YOUR MIND if you wanted

I've been doing something like that for a while now. Except I don't use the New Posts page at all. I log on, go to the Mine Field, read a few posts, reply to a few, then I log off. I know I'm not missing anything interesting.

for Digital Abyss, I substitute ranting about soccer in the Sports Forum, but otherwise mi casa es su casa.
 
I am in the habit of starting at the top.. so I usually read QSF because it's funny sometimes. GFHH is also fun to read at times.. but everything else, besides the Mine Field, I ignore. Welll occasionally I'm suckered into reading a different forum by a thread topic or if there's a lot of people viewing.. I think something's going on, then I'm disappointed that something fun is not in fact going on, and I come back to the MF.

The other forums are boring, though my opinion is based on finding all the thread titles in those forums too boring to bother opening them. I guess there could be some porn in there somewhere. I guess.
 
Troll Playground is probably the worst forum in the history of the world.
 
Don't forget the gutters (sorry Jack) that forum is mind numbingly stupid.

That's what I'm taking about. I don't give a rat's ass about anything to do with TV, TW, CC, or any of the other completely trolled sites that came here wanting to kill us and ended up licking our boots, and bringing all their internal fights with them.

I didn't think so many people already tuned it out, but I was wrong. I never was in the habit of hiding fora, it's a recent thing for me. Oh well...

When TK closes down I'll open a Mine Field spin-off board.
