It depends on the dual, and the purpose it serves.

If an anti-poster dual like Turdinterrupted was unmasked as being a certain poster, then there is little point in going on with it.

If it's a dual like SpellCheck or As a Judgement, who are sort of novelty duals, then they can simply be passed on to someone trustworthy enough to carry the torch.
