sorry Darth, you'll have to forgive me for taking anything said here with a pinch of salt..or anything said on the internet period.
 
I see Ru is accuseing me of side stepping - well she can claim that all she wants - yes there are threads in the SL, but reading them nearly two weeks after the date doesn't give one all the facts, or the circumstances. One 'has to be there' it get it all.

Anf I refuse to give out confidential information just to satisfy Ru and others.

so if that is side stepping so be it - any one can go read the threads in AQG where the reasons for DS's perma ban are set forth.

And as for what he said in his appeal - again - not going to satisfy unauthorised curiousity, if DS wants to post what he sent to the admins here that his his call to make.

And like I said the staff obviously didn't consider it suffecient to reverse the permaban.

Fair, unfair - we considered it and debated it for quite some time, but end the end it wasn't enought for us to open the board to him.

LOL...You are right it wouldn't make a diff.

The EI staff likes to write a lot of words without really saying anything of value within those words.

As you can see Shal, filled a whole post and what did she say> Nothing.

Shal...I'm not asking you to compromise your morals by giving out "confidential information." We all know what the Staff thinks--it became apparent when they permabanned DarthSikle. What I want to know, is what you think as an individual and Moderator? Do you think it was fair? Yes, there is his past behavior to take into account, but was this singular offense really worthy of a permaban. Your opinion is all I ask for.
 
Also, Shal, earlier in the thread I stated:

If you're willing, I'd like to know your take on that, as well. I'm not asking for hard evidence, just personal opinions.

Seeing how you Shal, didn't know the facts nor the circumstances of Darth's permaban. As you said, "One 'has to be there' it get it all" and not read it until 2 weeks later.

How could you possibly participate in a discussion concerning Darth's appeal? You did write 'we' as if you were involved in the debate and the decision making when it came to Darth's appeal.

Either you DON'T know all the evidence since you were in the hospital or you DO know all the evidence because you were involved in the debate. But you can't have it both ways.

Personally - and I've said it in public (IIRC - in a post about the various pros and cons of several people as potential wd's- I think that the list included GTC, CU, and maybe RoBL as well as DS )-

I don't trust Darth. He does not seem to care about the community, or following the guidelines - he seems far too interested in stirring the pot, rattleing people's cages, and doing what he wants with no concern or care of how it affects others

Look at what he did to BDM - supposedly a friend and coworker - he stated in a post many weeks ago that he was the one that advised BDM to go to a list of anonymous proxies and use one of them to get a new account on EI - somethig that was and is against the guidelines.

By his suggestion he got his friend huirt - though BDM certainly could have refrained from following DS's suggestion. And he should have- but it sure seems like that DS didn't care enough about his friend to NOT suggest something 'illegal"

I wish DS was all the time the way I have seen him be much of the time - careing, quirky, funny, smart and on the whole good people - but can I trust him to be that at EI? I don't feel that I can

Actually Shall I don't have to find one, I live a truly wonderful life everyday.

You would be pleasantly surprised to see the world I live in. However once you saw my world, you wouldn't want to leave and I would have to kick your skinny ass out.

Dang Messenger -- El Diablo! Say, would that be rojo ojos or would that be ojos rojos? I don't speak Spanish - but I work in a place where it is frequently heard. If that's you, you're a easy on my ojos.
 
Shal tried to use the "get a life" argument on me, too. She shut up pretty fast when I pointed out that *I* wasn't the one with enough free time to volunteer modding a message board. It's akin to Godwin's Law, and clearly signifies an argument of last resort.
