Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice

CaptainWacky

I want to smell dark matter
I thought I'd start a new thead since the old one has a huge poll at the top whcih is probably annoying to scroll by every time and they put the teaser trailer on YouTube officially after it leaked earlier today.

Doesn't look super appealing to me but should please fans of darkness and bleeding.

Oh good the inception horn.

Hilarious fascist Superman is my favourite Superman, but grimdark Batman is my least favourite Batman. I think this could be good??

(I'm surprised that I think that.)

This has looked to me like a trainwreck since it was announced. Every new piece of information I get on it reinforces that. Up to when I stopped collecting comics, I was a DC person and I've got one box full of Batman titles. DC has managed to make Batman ("Batman and Robin") and Superman ("Man of Steel"(?)) movies I haven't seen and have no desire to see. Now they're going to manage to do a Batman and Superman (AND AQUAMAN! AND GREEN LANTERN! AND WONDERWOMAN! AND G'NORT!) movie that I have no interest in seeing.

Meanwhile Marvel, which I was only marginally interested in (the occasional X-men title) is consistently knocking them out of the park with their Avengers franchise to the point that it feels like they're just rubbing it in at this point--"What's that? Wonder Woman is a difficult character? That's too bad. Here's a sci-fi movie with a talking racoon and his pet tree. Be sure to catch Ant-Man this summer too." "Guardians of the Galaxy" is the first movie in a long time that I've seen twice in theaters.

And yet in the whole history(s) of DC, Batman has never been killed -- he just broke his back once. Yet Superman has been killed. Hmph.

I'm sure everyone would love both Marvel and DC to be putting out great movies (and Sony and Fox!) but Man Of Steel was a big pile of shite and I haven't seen much to give me much confidence that BVS will be any better so I'll continue to make fun of it until I do.

The problem is Superman. Hollywood is incapable of rendering an unironic hero anymore.

BATMAN IS AWESOME AND HE WAS NEVER CALLED A SUPERHERO, HE IS THE WORLD'D GREATEST DETECTIVE SO THEY CAN SHOVE THAT ENTITLEMENT STUFF YEAH WOW.

Granted DC as a comic company has been dead since Zero Hour in the 90s, but still. All my classic 70s and early-90s DC comics didn't just disappear when the company went south.

YEAH :rwmad: <-- rwmad

Don't know if the Joker's going to be in this as a cameo or not but here's what he'll look like in Suicide Squad...

He has "damaged" tattooed on his forehead.
