Black Mirror (the Netflix years)

HEY, there's going to be a new episode tomorrow and it's rumoured to be a "choose your own adventure" thing and who knows how that will work but here's a trailer!

Choose your own adventure movie about a boy/man? from 1984 who is writing code for a ....choose your own adventure video game based on a book called Bandersnatch by Jerome F Davies.
PAC Man stands for Power. And. Control and life isn't what it seems.

The first choice option is cereal, the next is music and goes up from there with one of the choices being to jump off a building. And then one of the choices-which I have not done yet is to kill your own father. (If he is indeed your father). I have not done this yet as I feel my choices are being recorded somewhere and I am being watched.

Explaining Netflix was fun. I avoided options which I thought would end everything, such as jumping, killing dad and destroying the computer, so I’ll revisit it at some point.

To be fair, people have done choose your own adventures on dvd and YouTube before, so it’s not as mind blowingly original an idea as some make out, but I did really like how they tied in psychological disorders. By the end I was willing him to defy me.

Late to the party but I watched bandersnatch the other night. Interesting premise, I wonder if I made him jump would the show end right then?

He still died in the end for me, getting on the train with his mum.

Same here. Or his mom. I think I did make himi jump once-and I can't recall what happened-but the show didn't end. Maybe it did-maybe they showed what others did after he died or how the game went on. Then it takes you back to a different decision.
Maybe I will watch again.

That's what I got, we watched it again today, tried to pick the opposite of what we did before, but it keeps heading you back to certain scenes, where if you make a choice it tells you it was wrong and sends you back to make the other one.

Seen a lot of new scenes though, including a mind bending ending that goes to the present were another programmer is making the bandersnatch TV show for Netflix.

No, they took back everyone else's dna, and swapped out his controller to delay his return, but he used a backup controller of his own.

Hey, the new episodes are tomorrow. I assumed Friday. That means I'll be finished and desperately trying to find something else to watch two days sooner!

Anyone watched them yet? The first one was the best of the three. I know some are already comparing it to San Junipero and no it wasn't as good as that, but it was different enough to be an entertaining story in its own right. And let's face it if that game was real we'd all be having sex with polar bears in it

The second one was pretty good in terms of acting and I liked the stuff with the social media company knowing more than the police, but the ending felt a bit flat? I mean I'm sure the point of it all wasn't just "don't get distracted by your phone while you drive!" but it kind of felt that way.

Third one was weird because the first half was quite serious and slow then it turned into a fun, Disney movie style romp. I liked the robot anyway. Miley felt a bit too much like she was just playing Miley (because she was) but I guess if you write a character who is basically Miley you might as well get Miley.
