There is no such thing as an Anglo-Saxon race. You said so yourself that:
"My family claims I have 'Norman' blood in me which I absolutely refuse to accept. NO way do I have froggy blood in me."
Yet by the logic I have seen, a person of English nationality could have 'Norman' blood in him and still be considered Anglo-Saxon. But of course, he would be of the same 'race' as you.
I don't think you know much about the way people are classified.
CECIL RHODES (of Rhodes scholar fame)
I contend that we are the finest
race in the world, and that the more
of the world we inhabit the better it is for the human race. I contend
that every acre added to our territory means the birth of more of the
English race who otherwise would not be brought into existence.
Added to this, the absorption of the greater portion of the world under
our rule simply means the end of all wars. The objects one should
work for are first the furtherance of the British Empire, the bringing of
the whole uncivilized world under British rule, the recovery of the
United States, the making of the
Anglo-Saxon race but one Empire.
About Cecil Rhodes:
Throughout his life he proclaimed his faith in the superiority of the
Anglo-Saxon race: a faith that was to lead to his being likened to Adolf Hitler. Nor did he make any secret of his own role in furthering British interests.
U.S. Congress
"Let me emphasize here that the restrictionists of Congress do not claim that the 'Nordic' race, or even the
Anglo-Saxon race, is the best race in the world. Let us concede, in all fairness that the Czech is a more sturdy laborer, with a very low percentage of crime and insanity, that the Jew is the best businessman in the world, and that the Italian has a spiritual grasp and an artistic sense which have greatly enriched the world and which have, indeed, enriched us, a spiritual exaltation and an artistic creative sense which the Nordic rarely attains. Nordics need not be vain about their own qualifications. It well behooves them to be humble. What we do claim is that the northern European, and particularly Anglo-Saxons made this country. Oh, yes; the others helped. But that is the full statement of the case. They came to this country because it was already made as an Anglo-Saxon commonwealth. They added to it, they often enriched, but they did not make it, and they have not yet greatly changed it. We are determined that they shall not. It is a good country. It suits us. And what we assert is that we are not going to surrender it to somebody else or allow other people, no matter what their merits, to make it something different. If there is any changing to be done, we will do it ourselves." (Cong. Rec. April 8, 1924; p. 5922).
While ethnicity and race are related concepts (Abizadeh 2001), t
he concept of ethnicity is rooted in the idea of social groups, marked especially by shared nationality, tribal affiliation, religious faith, shared language, or cultural and traditional origins and backgrounds, whereas race is rooted in the idea of a biological classification of Homo sapiens according to chosen genotypic and/or phenotypic traits.
