COMMUNITY ...AND A MOVIE OKAY

Community” creator Dan Harmon is inching closer to the finish line for the “movie” portion of his “Six Seasons and a Movie” prophecy.

Following up on former “Community” star Donald Glover’s recent assertion that a script is already in the can, Harmon told Variety that it was almost right. According to Harmon, he’s “almost done” working on the script for the highly-anticipated film, which is set to run on NBCU’s Peacock streaming service.

“I can confirm Donald Glover’s report that I told him the script was done, but I will also say Donald’s sources are so unreliable because the script is always ‘almost done,'” Harmon quipped. “What can I tell you about it — it’s set on the campus of Greendale Community College. I’m super excited about it, and we’re almost done.”

ANOTHER ALMOST DONE ARTICLE.

My final question is annoying, and I apologize in advance, but it would be an abdication of my duties not to ask for an update on the Community movie.
Oh, well, it hasn't been shot yet. It will be. And I don't have a definitive update because we thought for a moment it was going to all happen this year, and then it didn't. But we have the money, and that is a huge step. And hopefully, people still want to see it. And Peacock's paying for it. And so I can't wait to do it. I'll say vaguely next year. How about that?

All right. I'm just writing down, “All…Donald….Glover's….fault.”
No! If it's anybody's fault, it's my schedule on this one. It's not his at all. He was available. No, no, no, no.

I know, I’m kidding. I did some requisite Googling before this interview, and I just found that story, and I found it very funny.
Ok. I will say, and please print this. That was definitely not true. It was not Donald's schedule. We love Donald. You can fully blame my schedule.

Wasn't the movie supposed to be out this year...

Maybe the actors strike pushed everything back and the had to coordinate everyone's schedules all over again...

Honestly maybe the movie's a bad idea as they'll never live up to the purity of the show and the moment in time is gone? SORRY.

Is that the one they actually used in the show?

I think it is, in the comments the guy who made it said something about Dan Harmon seeing the video.

This isn't exactly surprising from all the stuff we already know but a shame all the same.

"A new documentary examining the career and complex personality of Chevy Chase has revealed an awkward silence from his former Community castmates. The CNN film, titled I’m Chevy Chase and You’re Not, sought voices from Chase’s time on the hit sitcom, but reportedy none of the principal cast or the show’s creator agreed to take part.

Despite efforts to include their perspectives, every individual approached declined to be interviewed, highlighting lingering tensions from past conflicts during filming. One of the few contributors was comedian and Community director Jay Chandrasekhar, who discusses a heated moment on set that ultimately contributed to Chase’s exit from the series after its fourth season.

The documentary explores both sides of Chase’s life and career, including his early success in comedy, his personal struggles, and the reactions of those who agreed to speak on camera. I’m Chevy Chase and You’re Not offers viewers an unfiltered look at a polarizing figure in entertainment and debuts soon on CNN.

When I heard that he's been having health problems, I kind of thought "it would be nice if they got him in the Community movie for a cameo somehow" but I guess reading that it's probably not going to happen.

'Community' Crew Yelled 'F*ck You, Chevy!' at Wrap Party After Feud Between Actor and Creator Dan Harmon https://variety.com/.../chevy-chase-meltdown-community.../

“My dad was super excited to bring me and my mom to the wrap party,” Chevy’s daughter Caley says in a new CNN documentary (via People). “We walk in, Dan [Harmon], he had had some drinks. He had gotten the whole cast and crew to yell, ‘F*ck you, Chevy!’ ‘F*ck you, Chevy!’ I’m there, he’s showing his daughter, like, ‘This is the show I did,’ and we walk in to ‘F*ck you, Chevy!’ That’s rough and mean.”
