Cleveland Guardians slugger Josh Naylor put on COVID-19 list amid outbreak
Clevelend Guardians first baseman Josh Naylor was added to the team's COVID-19 injured list on Friday, marking the first player to be sidelined by the team's recent outbreak. As of Friday, Naylor was the only Guardians player on the COVID-19 list. Naylor has been one of the team's best hitters so far this season, batting .347 with five homers and 22 RBI in 20 games.

Power 5 conference revenues varied greatly for 2020-21 season amid COVID-19 pandemic
The ACC and Pac-12 released their financial data for the 2020-21 season on Friday, and most notably, the conferences saw their revenues impacted in a different way during the coronavirus pandemic. While the ACC 990 form shows total revenue was more than $578.3 million, the highest gross revenue in league history, the Pac-12 reported total revenues of $344 million, down 36% over the previous year. Also helping the ACC: Notre Dame participated as a full-time football team for this one year as a result of the pandemic, which not only helped the overall revenue but allowed the Irish to gain an equal share of the revenue distribution.

The world's No. 2 player lost in the first round of singles action on Monday to French teenager Diane Parry, and she had to withdraw from doubles on Wednesday after testing positive for COVID-19. The 26-year-old made the announcement about her illness in a post on her Instagram story.

Steve Stricker out of Senior PGA Championship after positive COVID-19 test
Former Ryder Cup captain Steve Stricker has pulled out of the Senior PGA Championship after testing positive for the coronavirus. Stricker revealed his positive test Tuesday on Twitter, saying he was "super bummed" and that it was "just a small setback." Stricker was out of competition for six months because of a virus that he says doctors never fully identified. He became ill last fall, about a month after leading the Americans to a record blowout (19-9) over Europe at Whistling Straits in his native Wisconsin.

Padres manager Bob Melvin and bench coach Ryan Christenson entered COVID protocols in between games of a doubleheader against the Colorado Rockies on Saturday. That forced quality control coach Ryan Flaherty to serve as acting manager for the second game.The Padres made the announcement about 40 minutes before first pitch of the second game. San Diego beat the Rockies 2-1 in 10 innings in the opener.

Melvin, 60, said he's been asymptomatic for the past nine days. He went into the protocols in between games of a doubleheader on June 11. He said he had a scratchy throat and tested positive.
