Tyrant

Go.

the gateway to corruption.

The ability to make widespread change & influence numerous individuals through your own actions.

Power IS NOT being appointed a moderator on a BBS, and trying to throw your weight around in order to impose your own fudged views of that board's rules & policies on new members.

Currency in all its myriad forms.

That might qualify as effort, but it's hardly power unless the effort is successful.

I sort of disagree. Applying my awareness of various subjects gives me the power to form opinions, and the power to make certain decisions. If by power you mean XTREME ULTIMATE POWER than you are correct, but imo awareness gives one the power to control his/herself, if one is also aware of how to apply said awareness.

Non existent.

More awareness will certainly fortify your opinions, and make your actions more effective. More Effective = More Powerful, so yeah (if I've got that right), I can see where you're coming from.

One can be powerful without being very aware, though. I see it every day, unfortunately. That sort of power-wielding tends to damage and I'd like to say that such incompetence usually destroys itself, but that's often just not true. We have many deep-rooted mechanisms in our culture (established with the best of intentions, of course) that allow many to fail upward and gain even greater power.

Intended and successful influence.

The amount of energy transferred by a force divided by time. Or a Watt. :ramen:

The ability to destroy a thing.

The ability to take the illusion of control and make it "real" through the power of one's own ego (or stubborn stupidity).
