Boston Legal has enough serious moments to still qualify as a "drama", but it's really a comedy in disguise. It sort of combines "The Practice" and the less loony aspects of "Ally McBeal" in one show. The saving grace is that the character of Ally McBeal would be eaten alive by these characters.
James Spader and the Shat drinking and smoking cigars together on the roof patio at the end of each episode is classic, classic TV every time. Manly men, speaking as men do. With snifters of brandy, of course.
