Do you like your job?

Jesus! Do you work THAT far away from your home, or is this just standard LA gridlock?

I live about 45 miles from work. No biggie, should take, what, 45 minutes? An hour? Nope. Problem is, LA is sooo friggin' expensive, but it's where the money is. So you need to work there to make a living, but you can't afford to live there. That's why so many people commute such long distances. The freeways are overloaded, so it takes 3 times as long as it should to get anywhere.

Sometimes I miss my 40-minute roundtrip commute. :(

^^Dude, I used to live in Conshohocken, and work in Plymouth Meeting. Even with traffic AND stopping off to pick up my son at daycare, I'd be home in 30-35 minutes. I can't BELIEVE I used to complain about the traffic in Montgomery County. I had no idea what real traffic was.

I tried to tell you and I remember your words exactly, "I like driving." I know you do very little driving during your commute but again, I tried to tell you.

I hate my job. There's too much drama. Too many assassins. I end up doing everyone else's job because they can not or will not. There's some sort of power struggle in the works which I tried to stay out of. The winner gets to be Queen of the Toilet. Gives you an idea how penny ante it all is. Except, I'm not ready to leave town and lay down roots else where.

^^Indeed, "driving" is not what I do every day. It's more like "sitting" and "fuming" and "quietly sobbing" followed by "plotting the death of every other motorist on the road, especially the fucking motorcylists who think they're SO FUCKING GREAT because they can drive in between lanes of traffic".

That bridge on Fayette St is hell in the AM. But, Ridge and Germantown are always easy.

^^Agreed. You think people in CA don't know how to drive and then you get on that MFer and it's like all the retards hit the road at once.

One of the few good things about my job is I work very close to home. I can leave the house at a quarter til clock in time, stop at one of the drive-thru joints on the way and grab breakfast and still get to work early. I can walk home from work in about 1/2 an hour too.

I'm just ready to retire. I like people better when I don't have to deal with them.
