EI Guideline Vote

I noticed that.

Of course, there are some obvious things they left out. But, from the looks of it, there leaving a lot of stuff up to "mod interpretation". Not good.

I agree. I would have preferred some discussion. Staff might think they don't need any feedback, but members need to give it.

And just in case no one noticed, what was left of member input inot the rules just fell to the side of the road. These are their rules, crafted to make their lives easier. Like them, hate them, all you can say is yes or no. You can't clarify a single item.

Until you can ask for clarification or discuss an issue, I say vote no. Or in the alternative, READ them very carefully and really make an informed decision. Please don't just vote yes, because you trust the Staff. READ them. Look what happened to us last time because people didn't read them carefully?

Why doesn't everyone just leave there? Sounds like you guys are giving EI most of its traffic...get "them" where they live and make them pay for a board that nobody uses...then offer to take it over for peanuts.

Because I am a troll. Ask Sardy. Red. Any of the other old timers.

My entire online existance is to cause havoc on sites that piss me off. I originally registered there several years ago, and got treated like shit. Why? Because I was a TKer, and they saw me as one of the ones responsible for the downfall of their original site. OK. Whatever. It wasn't true, but I can live with not being liked. So I left.

However, when I saw my online buds being treated like shit for the same thing, for no other reason then their affiliation with this site (even though they weren't around for the original Slipstream downfall), that is when I went into action. I will continue to do my troll thing till they either: a; unilaterally say that I am right, and they are wrong, and resign in mass, or b; ban me.

And I really don't give a shit that Lin666, VeganTroll, G1984, or any of the others hate my guts for calling them on their shit. I will continue to be a pain in the ass till my demands are met.

Don't like it? Tough. I'm a troll. Deal with it.

God forbid a moderator should excersise his or her own judgement instead of slavishly following the rules.

Oh wait, that was what we were told we SHOULD have been doing in HF's case.

Funny how mod interpretation is a good thing one day and 'not good' the other.

Surprising, no? It's unfortunately.

Of course, if the guidelines don't pass, then we can discuss...so just don't ratify them. I'll read them eventually.

Its good when you have mods with their heads fastened on straight, who aren't thick as rocks, or have private little vendettas that are playing out as we speak.

Except, you do.

I'll tell you whats going to happen. Troll A is going to go and do something that's totally within the rules. A mod will "interpret" it to be against policy, and warn him for it. Said troll will then protest and cause havoc in AQG, resulting in banishment. Then rule change will be enacted to cover mod's ass for the next time.

And pretty soon, your policy will look like what it does now.

I especally like that "one week to warn" rule. It formalizes what's going on now. Your pets do something against policy, and you "debate" long enough to say "oops, time line passed, so sorry" and it gets swept under the rug. Way to go on that one there, Gode.

Of course I do, evidence? Oh sorry I forgot, you're a troll who exists to cause havoc. If I have the quote wrong i'm more than willing to correct it.

So forgive me if I take what you say with regards to board moderation with a handfull of salt, because you have your own vendetta to push.

Chipper, why the straight up yes/no vote? I mean no discussion at all. No clarification at all, only a sweet little disclaimer here:

Please be aware that the preceeding guidelines/rules are not set in stone. Each case is different, and may be subject to conditions not readily apparent to all posters. When warnings are issued, consideration is given not just to the specific offense, but also the member’s prior actions and infractions. New rules may be added as circumstances dictate.

[Emphasis mine]

Hell, they even locked the one thread where memebers were discussing it.

Thats right. Go back and tell all your mod friends that. Hell, even give them a URL to my post.

Don't pretend that there isn't an issue with at least one moderator. We might not be able to discuss it at EI, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. So while I can appreciate your attitude towards RobL [he has said loudly he is a troll], that doesn't make him a liar.

Sorry, but that's just the funniest thing i've heard today. (of course, I've been watching tragedies all day, so that doesn't mean much). Other than here, I neither think about you, nor talk about you. For all your self-assumed importance, you just aren't that important to me.

Then why are you here? Your obviously here for something, and I don't think its for the naked Oprah Winfrey pictures.

Nor does it mean the entire staff is on long sousenal wreck.

Oh well that is absolutely true. But then I never said that. The only reason I refer to things using "The Staff" is because I'd be warned for getting personal if I named Admins and mods I took issue with.

And no Gode, you don't fall into that category as far as I'm concerned. You've always been up front with me and even taken time in private to explain your POV. I've always appreciated it.

There are Staff members I do admire.

There are those I don't. It's the ones I don't admire that give me pause.
