If you are banned, how can you be expected to perform your duties?

I'm not snarking here - I genuinely want to know how you intend to?
 
as opposed to the stellar performance of all the other watchdogs? ;)
 
For the benifit of people that dont care, can someone explain what an EI watchdog does?
 
Makes sure the staff aren't badmouthing members in their private forum.
