EIers – What you say?

That's the thread you were talking about last week. I read the whole thread. Contrary to what you said about it, it looks like it was Lil and a few others who rallied the masses to push for new guidelines, but I'm assuming nothing ever came of it because there's nothing in the guidelines now.

The above link was to illustrate that this is an old feud, and one that has been argued amongst the members long and loud for years. Your argument, as highlighted, is still beating that same drum. The first link went on for 12 pages. It was one of many threads started about that same time. Here's another continuation in the same vein:

This has been argued and reargued endlessly over the years, very much the same as troll conduct is being argued in the AQG right now. It's almost as if all the members have collective amnesia and have forgotten about what had transpired before, even though some of the combatants were in the original threads.

You say that nothing is reflected in the rules? The rules have been amended and modified so many times that what used to be simple rules are now approaching the ridiculous. And still the arguing goes on with demands for yet more draconian rules for perceived loopholes that must be closed. The most recent "cure" is one about charging members just for the privilege of being a member.

To paraphrase Santayana, those who fail to remember the past are doomed to repeat it. Everyone seems to be caught in a time loop.

EI is no longer my home board. I never thought I'd actually say that-especially here on TK. But it's true. I'm tired folks. I tried defending that board, and I sucked at it. Got nothing but PM's telling me I shouldn't do it anymore by one of the staff. That was a while ago. Late last year. I don't like how things are being handled there anymore at all, and I don't agree with how a few members are acting. As for LoP becoming an admin...that's just bullshit. I much as i really like the guy, he's hardly around and hasn't done much of anything as a boardwide mod. I don't like how things are being handled, and part of me is kind of sorry for sticking my neck out for them in light of recent events.

Welcome to the club. I still think the trolls are a bunch of hypocritical fuckwits, but the EI staff are a bunch of lotus-eating hippies.

Utahraptor - care to provide a cite for this? Don't make claims you can't back up.

If you are talking about the old stuff with Ro, or myself - you can take that and chuck it.

Lotus eating hippies... don't make me laugh - the OT mods ( myself included ) are certainly not in that catagory.

If you want a recent one, RommieSG joined in the insults on the latest G1223 thread. While I'm sure he won't go back to EI and pretend to be G's pal, why should G trust the EI staff after that? Though I know G has seen it, I doubt he'll say anything about it when he comes back. If he comes back.
 
DS - as I was in the hospital with a really rabid case of pneumonia I had no computer and didn't know about the permaban until after it was done.

and while you can be a nice enough person, and you made many contributive posts, there is also a side of you that likes being a disruptor. Some times a distrupor is good for things, sometimes its not; and I don't think you know the difference or when to stop.

I was actually far more surprized at GTC's than yours.

However I can see both sides of the picture ( though admittedly it's harder for me to see ya'll's as a legitimate beef ) and I understand very well why ya'll got the boot.

EI is EI and TK is TK - each serves a very different function in EL, and they reallly are like oil and water - and part of the dressing objected strenuously to the shaking. I'm not here trying to change TK, and I don't feel it was right of ya'll to go to EI and try and change it.

You don't go to someone's home and be an ass- if you do you get kicked out. Well you all were a right bunch of asses and you got kicked out for it.

I wish you hadn't - but oh well

Now I am not excuseing in any way what some people there said/ how they acted. They were just as wrong as you all were - and just because they were 'natives' didn't make it right.


and Utahraptor- G doesn't trust the staff, and hasn't for many many months now ( well before any of the EI-TK stuff started ) and if Rommie did, then I am sorely disappointed in him.

but there a lot of people that I have been sorely disappointed in as of the last few months. Meh, I'll live
 
Sorry to hear about the hospital stay. Glad to see you're better.

as to my permaban, my only gripe was that I never got the required 3 suspensions. I was permabanned against the guidelines.

Oh well, I'll wait my thirty days and then apply for reinstatement.

It wasn’t hard to guess that after the permaban proposal was voted upon that it would result in us four TK trolls being removed at the first opportunity. The membership knew that and that’s why they voted in favour of it.

Also I will not be appealing my ban at any time.
