Film suggestions needed

missmanners

grrrrrrrr...
I need some movies to entertain my parents all winter. So far they like things like "My Fellow Americans" "Space Cowboys" "Guarding Tess"... any suggestions?

;)
mm

So, they like watching old people be grumpy? :D

Gran Torino

Hard Candy.

Battle Royale.

They Live.

"Zombieland" if it's out on DVD (maybe in Jan?)

Big Trouble in Little China

Tombstone

Airport (the original) - they'll laugh and cheer at Helen Hayes as the stowaway.

I don't know about new movies -- I usually don't watch them until they become old ones.

Space Is the Place, Cannibal Holocaust?

how about "the bucket list", "shawshank redemption", or maybe, "to catch a thief"?

MMs movie criteria also suggests patriotic.

That's why I suggested Gran Torino. It's about a grumpy old man who is a hard-working American patriot, who also happens to be a veteran. What's not to like.

What's the name that movie where the old guy drives his lawnmower across the country in search of the American dream or something?

DEAD MAN'S SHOES

STREET THIEF

THE SHINING

Master & Commander - The Far Side of the World

Up

...and if you want to be COMPLETELY obvious: Cocoon.

Nothing so grandiose --he does it to see his ill, estranged brother. Terrific movie.
