I want to smell dark matter
I happened to turn the tv on right when he was about to start his routine. The thing that stood out to me was he was performing to music he recorded himself. Is that normal or a bit wanky? Maybe it's because I'm not good at anything and I'm jealous and it feels like showing off.
Nah, you're not imagining it. He did come across a bit wanky lol. I did admire his seemingly insane confidence about the whole thing since singles performances like this which are highly technical and can collapse under one mistake under the spotlight are inherently nerve wracking but it didn't seem to work very well!
He also dubbed HIMSELF the QUAD KING, taking the moniker that was bestowed on Sasha Trusova by others who call her the Quad Queen. A bit arrogant!
It's another thing I like about the sport. It doesn't matter how good you are in practice and when the pressure is off, it's about how clutch you are on the day when it matters.
Gold medals in this sport are simply not for everyone. Ilia's’ horrendous performance on the day showed that for all the arrogance and the seemingly nonchalant attitude going into Milan, when it came time to be flawless, he choked. It’s harsh, but that’s the sport.
