Nothing seedy about it.

CM breaks rules and gets banned. GE is temporarily banned to keep him from doing her dirty work until Elwood gets back to talk it over with him. GE goes into chat and starts spewing the same garbage. Listkeeper bans him. The ban didn't take and GE gets banned again apparently.

What exactly was I supposed to do? Ignore the threats and the orders left if those threats were carried out? Have you seen any evidence from them? The best I keep getting how wonderful it is that I could die at any moment. Yeah, I'm real inclined to help people treating me that way. I'm really inclined to believe GE will not do her message carrying when he specifically tells me the only reason he wants to come back to WF is to clear her name.

That's what I had to work with and that is why the ban stood. Now it's in Elwood's hands and thank god, because I am sick of the whole shitty thing.

Are we going to make that policy now; protest a persons banning, and get banned yourself? And get a ban if we even THINK you're going to do that. Hmmmm....polarslam help us all!

There is protesting a banning and continuing to repeat personal details that was shared with someone else over a private medium.

Elwood was pretty certain he would do that....and was proven right when he did it in the chat room necessitating a ban from there as well.

If people were banned just for protesting a banning, most of us would be banned by now...me included.

Making it seem as if Elwood's life was in danger because Cheeky and GE were saying that he makes the guy who wrote a Million Little Pieces look honest wasn't seedy? Making it seem to the board as if GE was tossed from chat for being an insensitive ass and continuing to try to bring up the CM mess after Techman's passing wasn't seedy?

What would the harm be in giving him the chance to come back to the board whenever be if he was given the warning that the reposting of anything from CM's post would result in a ban? It can't be a fear of letting everyone see that stuff again because I saw how quickly the staff was able to make her BR thread disappear, it wouldn't take the staff that long to notice and delete and offending post.
 
When I banned him it was temporary until Elwood returned to deal with it.

Those were my instructions and I saw nothing wrong with following them.
 
Tamar, why do you keep repeating this story that Goldeneye was abusive and offensive in chat when Listkeeper has RIGHT HERE said HE DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING WRONG, HE WAS JUST BANNED BECAUSE THAT WAS THE POLICY!?

Or am I somehow reading this wrong? Because it looks like we've tried to get a straight answer out of Listy for about a dozen posts and it seems the straight answer is "I banned you Just Because".

OK. Fuck it. Here's my take on the Official Story:
1) For whatever reason, CheekyMonkey flipped out like a ninja and posted a devious mix of lies and personal information and that this was probably reason to believe that she'd post name, phone number, or other sensitive details (that would immediately be used by the criminal element of Bumfuck Alabama--most of which apparently spend their waking hours lurking at Wordforge in hopes of finding out information about Elwood).
2) That Goldeneye, completely bewitched by CheekyMonkey to the point of no longer having any free will of his own, would use his account to leak said private information.

My read on things, based on a couple experiences I've had, and reading between the lines is:
1) For whatever reason CheekyMonkey flipped out like a ninja and posted a bunch of mean, hurtful stuff that is pretty apparently about Elwood and was subsequently banned for it.
2) That Goldeneye was also banned because CheekyMonkey broke things off with Elwood in favor of him.

Maybe that's what happened, maybe it isn't. But that's the way it looks from where I'm standing. And since the Official Story seems to have no basis in fact, I'll share my take on things as well :borg:

That's not what I said. He didn't say anything the night of the Wake, but he'd already shown he was going to be an annoying fuck with the continual "But Elwood's a LIAR and CM is GOODNESS AND LIGHT!" crap on previous nights... which is why I THOUGHT I'd banned him already, because he's a pussy-blinded little twerp who's more obsessive about the Monkey than baba is about BSG or Lipstick Lesbians.
 
It is a good thing Face kept quoting Elwood in the Meka thread, sinceElwood's Meka thread posts have been deleted. Maybe that is addressed somewhere in the next 34 pages.
 
I never said he was abusive or offensive...I said he repeated shit CM told him that was private and that got him the first ban from chat.

When Techman passed, GE showed up in chat...showing that the ban didn't go through properly to begin with. He was rebanned then. Whether he was harassing Elwood or not is apparently arguable I guess. I wasn't there for that.

GE just repeats it over and over wanting to try and make people believe what CM said. He doesn't care about anything else....by his own admittance.

And why the fuck am I still bothering with this?

Another shining highlight of Mutai Sho Wood's reign over WF where he gave his blessing to a staff led lynching of a poster because of 'secret evidence' that no one else could see. It still makes me smile to see just how badly that effort to drive off Meka backfired on the mods and Eccentric himself.
 
So why were Elwood's posts deleted? And when? I'm only on page sixteen, and I'm not reading any further tonight.

Yeah, Listkeeper is persuasive on that regard -- the bannings appear to be bullshit, and everything Listy says just proves the point.

So, much like Elwood, you punish people for association? Nice. You can dress it up all you want, but when it comes down to it, GE has done nothing but fuck CM.
 
Far be it from me to believe anything that Crazy Monkey says, but I definately think Volpone is right, there is more to the story. Elwood isn't completely innocent here. GE shouldn't have been banned, but it ain't my board so I can't really do anything about that.
 
I should point out that Tasvir has done much more to insult Elwood than GE, but he's still around.

As far as I can tell, GE just got nailed for presumed intent. Flashlight, by contrast, made actual threats to try to get E into legal trouble, and yet he still breathes WF air.

As has been pointed out, it's Elwood's decision, but IMHO it certainly appears not to have been a good one.
